Hi Ed, happy Sunday. The FIFA v Diarra case has some sense to it but could impact the transfer market and player power.
Is it resolved?
What do you see as the biggest impact on transfer market?
What will be the impact on the lower leagues who rely on selling players on to survive?
I guess if a club can sell a player before the end of their contract to receive a transfer value, a player should be able to do the same and understand the cost. I thought they could just buy their contract out which is very difficult.
Too much time on my hands and wondering if it's already impacted the slow previous winter market.
Thanks.
{Ed001's Note - it is resolved, but obviously someone else could seek to use it to test the waters and find out exactly how far they can push things.
The impact is probably slight on its own, as it is only in regard to players in a contract dispute, such as those who haven't been paid. It is only when someone wants to push it further and challenge the transfer system as a whole that we will see any potential impact.
It shouldn't make any difference, so long as they pay players when they should. It is only when they hit financial difficulties they could face issues, as players could well just walk out on the club.}
