Note on Zaha and a reason I don't want him anywhere near our team, Ben nicks the ball of him in their left back position, Zaha gives up on it, quick interchange with Sska. GOAL, if he chases him down that interchange becomes a lot more difficult as White has no time. Mentality, high press, GUNNERS.

Morning all, a little moan first. We lost and on balance maybe we deserved too. However we lost to a team who shouldn't even be in the competition, one of the many champions and did well last year teams who were knocked out and still got another go because £ and yes even when we were in that position I thought it was wrong.

What it did show is that outside of our first 11 and now maybe 1 or 2 others our squad is not at the level it needs to be. Hopefully Salian's injury is short term, I think Holding may do ok for Palace and Leeds but not sure after that. Anyway, will we win the league, maybe, I still think City's squad is better but hopefully now we can stick pretty much with that first 11/ 13 for the rest of the season ?.

Hello Ash mate, we were sloppy last night in our passing especially the second half and lacked a little bit of quality in front of goal. Sporting were a good side and the equaliser was a cracking goal.
We clearly struggle when Mikel rotates the squad.
What is most important now is our we react on Sunday and we are good enough to get 3pts. That will put us 8 clear with the pressure on City to win the game in hand .
I not a lover of the international break but this time I think we need a couple of weeks break, hopefully we don't pick up any injuries and the ones last night aren't serious.
I am sure the Emirates will be banging on Sunday has its been all season to lift the boys and take us on to the title.
COYG?????.

{Ed014's Note - no arguments from me last night and as much as it would have been nice to win it for me the league is the most important thing this season.

The boys have bounced back from every set back so far so I’m sure they will Sunday.

A little disappointed by last night, but meh. For me, I think we need a couple more seasons under Mikel till we may be ready for any type of assault on Europe. We're just not there yet.

In other news, if anyone is looking for eden, he's down by the riverside.

3.) 17 Mar 2023 08:49:51
It's another learning curve for the young team. They'll be more prepared next year, I'm sure.

Big game on Sunday that's been made trickier as there will be a sacked manager bounce at CP following Viera going.

4.) 17 Mar 2023 09:51:42
Just thinking the same thing Glenn.

5.) 17 Mar 2023 10:09:56
??? he’s deck-chaired ?☕️?.

6.) 17 Mar 2023 11:54:52
I was wrecked today! ? I'm not staying up to watch it again! Sod that!

{Ed014's Note - love it! ?

7.) 17 Mar 2023 12:12:14
Seems liek we are all on the same page.

Disappointed with the performance in isolation but agreed it shows perhaps that the ones that came in were perhaps not up to speed. no doubt that the 2 injuries played a big part in the game management and limited what Arteta was able to do in-game. but certainly not upset as while we were sloppy we still had plenty of chances to win the game and the goal they scored was a brilliant strike yes but only 1 in a hundred go in.

a good solid win against palace and we head into the run-in in a great mood and momentum in the league.

perhaps one point of discussion tho is - Arteta has largely used the same 11 as often as he can, which has been praised and even by myself, but perhaps is there an argument that it may have contributed to some of the players not being completely up to speed?
do we need to find more of a balance in squad rotation and playing the same 11 to be able to put up a fight on multiple fronts?

8.) 17 Mar 2023 12:13:55
gaza went to meet him with fishing rod and a bucket of chicken, down by the riverside.

9.) 17 Mar 2023 13:33:23
From all of last night I'm only bothered about saliba. I'm disappointed he got injured and hopefully it's not serious.
Anyone got any news.

10.) 17 Mar 2023 14:06:39
Moe, you can ask eden when he wakes up.

11.) 17 Mar 2023 15:58:36
? in three dayz time ?.

12.) 17 Mar 2023 18:38:28
three to five working days ?.

{Ed014's Note - ??

13.) 17 Mar 2023 19:31:31
Hopefully a learning lesson for Arteta also - we are ina great league position and don’t have the squad to challenge EPL and EL. So don’t risk our players OR strengthen the squad. Hopefully a cheap lesson learned. Didn’t care about EL so won’t get too bothered about the extremely sloppy play that put us under ridiculous pressure at times. On to Palace game and another statement game to put pressure on $hitty. COYG.

14.) 17 Mar 2023 20:10:22
???.

15.) 17 Mar 2023 21:09:15
I can tell you he's either injured or not injured ?.

Well that was interesting, . let's not lose sight of reality here, we're a better team than Everton, in pretty much every position, that's just a fact. However today they worked harder, chased harder than us and put in a better shift. I don't really subscribe to the one team didn't let another play scenario, if we'd been on form today and played as well as we can and have this season we would have beaten them, it really is that simple. Not one of our players put enough in or hit top form, maybe the players underestimated Everton, maybe it was as off day, but for the whole team? Doubtful. It's on the players today, they didn't perform and how they react in the next game will be massive. I'm not even going to have a dig at Arteta, the team let him down today and should be ripped a new one.

Hi all, been a voyeur for years but decided to jump in. Thinking on the Gorginho news, take some time with it. TP doesn't have the best injury record so do we want him playing Thu/ Sun every week, absolutely not and at 31 ish not going to work for Gorginho either. Our preferred target is not for sale, so at most he plays once a week and is at least proper player to cover midfield roles. So he's a serial winner with bags of experience. He's actually perfect and doesn't stop younger players progressing.

Good first post Ash ?welcome on board mate.

{Ed014's Note - yes agree 62, welcome aboard Ash!

2.) 31 Jan 2023 15:13:16
Absolutely Ash, welcome, and looking forward to some more well-thought-out posts from you, I took my time to comment on it as at first I was like "what are we doing" but actually its a decent short terms option and it would perhaps show that they are committed to their preferred long terms options (hopefully Rice) and not going to just rip up the plan they have in place, I was thinking along the loan route but its a deal that means we won't lose out in the summer and can move him on a recoupe the £10 million we have outlayed, and then in the summer get our preferred targets.

he won't heed an adjustment time to the prem, won't need to move house or his family, and has a chance at a prem league winners medal so will be absolutely motivated to return to some of his old best form.

3.) 31 Jan 2023 15:20:44
Very good take on it Ash mate.
Not on board with the signing but you have put forward a very good argument for buying him.

4.) 31 Jan 2023 16:12:29
Bill mate; you will be wearing a Jorginho shirt before April is out!

I'll bet you my last spam sandwich on it!

5.) 31 Jan 2023 16:15:08
Thanks guys, let’s just get Everton done at the wk end and see where it all leads #UPTHEARSENAL.

6.) 31 Jan 2023 16:48:59
Seems like a no brainer with Lakonga out on loan and Elneny just having had knee surgery. Players seem to be on board as well :)

7.) 31 Jan 2023 16:50:48
Ash, right now the only thing you got going for you is you're an Arsenal fan. Jorginho? I've cried a little today.

8.) 31 Jan 2023 17:08:47
Any chance of a bit of pickle on the spam sandwich please 62.

{Ed014's Note - now you’re pushing it Bill! ?

9.) 31 Jan 2023 18:07:04
I'll even fry you a spam fritter with extra pickle and serve it in tiger loaf bread for you Bill mate ❤???.

10.) 31 Jan 2023 18:31:31
Done deal 62???.

Well worth the 3 points, if we could finish ( I know we got 4) but, if we could finish would have scored 6 or 7.

Ash man

{Ed014's Note - 63% possession, 20 shots to 7 and could and should have had more.

Yeah it’s a fair point, however the defence really needed to do better too, he put himself on Ode, our big lads shouldn’t let that happen, also before he even got that far he brushed passed Saka who just let him go, it really was just an overall poor performance.

Ash man

{Ed014's Note - no one came out of that game with flying colours and that includes Mikel.

They need to Gabbi, really poor first half, I know Everton are and should be up for it but were poor everywhere. Can’t pick a single player that doesn’t need to improve in the 2nd half!
