Saka got to be man of moment. How good is he. people keep going on about foden all the time. But he in a team of superstars. While saka in a team of mediocre players (probably harsh on some) got to be England brightest talent. For me better then sancho too. What do the Ed’s think of him?

{Ed047's Note - he’s very impressive mate but I’m always loathed to proclaim a youngster as the next best thing when they’re starting out.

He no doubt has all the tools to go a long way, just has to keep doing all the right things to really make it happen.

Seems like a really sensible lad.

Saka is just pure class. I've been following the academy players for about 5 years now and even at 15/ 16 he was making a name for himself in the under 23s. In my opinion there are a lot more players who should be brought through and hopefully we'll see many more given the chance. Sadly Willock and Nketiah have never lived up to their potential and Nelson is fading but he really needs regular minutes to show what he's capable of.

We have a lot of our players on loan at championship and lower league teams now and they're all getting minutes but the standout for me is Matt Smith at Swindon. He's played every minute and is playing some very eye catching football for them. 👀
Daniel Ballard also had a very impressive spell at Blackpool, another one to keep an eye on if you're interested.

337 is probably going to throw his 2 pence in here but I'm going to mention him again, Balogun is our most highly rated talent since Saka. Everyone thought I was mad suggesting that we should allow a 16 year old a chance to play and look at him shine. Balogun has the potential and is ready, he just needs to opportunity and fingers crossed he doesn't leave.

I'm also a big fan of Arthur Okonkwo. 19 year old GK who looks impressive 👏🏻.

Over the years we've had young players proclaimed as the future of the Club who never quite lived up to the billing, in my opinion Saka is the real deal.
What ever it is about some young players that separates them from the rest Saka has it, as did Owen and Gerrard at young age and in more recent times Rashford too.

Yeah very true Gunner mate. I don't think for one minute think that they'll all make it of course but having watched a fair few over the years, there are some very promising lads that could.

John-Jules, Trae Coyle and Zech Medley for example are all players that are getting minutes on loan and are playing good football but are they ready for Premier league apps? We'll se what MA thinks when they come back.

Another I forgot to mention is Miguel Azeez. Just like Saka he's doing very well in the under 23's and he's only 18. Him and Matt Smith I would say are the next 2 that will break in to the first XI in the next couple of seasons so long as they are happy and get minutes.

Firstly here’s my 2 pence worth ( always given with love)
My take on Balogun is the same as most, he “ SHOULD” have been given more game time or gone out on lone but unfortunately and simply because he is refusing to sign a new contract that ship has now sailed, if reports are true that he wants to stay, instruct your agent and sign if not he has to be forgotten about unfortunately
And lastly you shouldn’t be following academy players around it makes them nervous and you’ll get arrested 🤣🤣.

I wouldn't say that he's refusing to sign, he's rightfully assessing his options (but being brainwashed by agents and money) before deciding. We can all say that he's refusing but put yourself in his position. Players like Saka, ESR, Nketiah, Willock are all included but no mater how professional his performances are at youth level, he's still sat in the dark. Why would he not look elsewhere before committing his future? He needs assurances made by Arsenal and faith shown by MA and I think he'll stay. We'll see.
If we hang on to him and he gets his chance, you'll see why he's worth it believe me.

As for following the academy, Arsenal showed a live game on their website a few years back and the football they played was superb. Funnily enough this was when the above mentioned players were all playing together with some of them still in the under 21s. It was a darn sight more exciting than watching the first XI that's for sure.

Just saw this Willian has produced just two shots on target in his 20 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season. Getting a quality return then 🙈😂.

Can’t believe no one really mentioned Cedric. Thought had really good game tonight. That little nutmeg 🙈. Like him to play in the fa cup game. See if he can continue where he left off.

Tbf thought luiz had been playing well lately. I know he has always got that one mad moment in him. But the referee was shocking again tonight. Never a red. Luiz was holding back. Never went for him. But still gets sent off. And that ref on bt sport is shocking. Saying that luiz always got it in him. So it always a red.
