So a question for you all and I ask this as it has to be said, unusually there are plenty to chose from.

Whose your favourite player from this squad and why.

I’m torn as so happy that he’s now here and playing for us so surprisingly I’m not going for Saliba.

I’m going with Jesus and because I feel he’s been a big part in our mentality change, the thing we’ve missed most.

That’s not to take away from Arteta though.

It's really hard to pick one, I'm with you on Jesus absolutely 100%, but martinelle and saka been awesome. However xhaka's presence has been immense. So I'm torn.
Not the answer you were hoping for I guess.

{Ed014's Note - it’s such a difficult one Moe and totally agree on Xhaka and I struggled myself mate.

Xhaka for me. Been a big fan of him

The last 2 seasons he has been the most improved player in the squad and he’s never out injured.

It’s a tough one.

I feel Ramsdale brought a resolve and attitude we’d not had in a long time, something we’d been lacking for so long.

Tomiyasu empties the tank every game he plays he’s got a warrior mentality that’s infectious, same goes for Tierney.

Ben Whytes application has been so impressive, he has a controlled aggression that’s under appreciated also but invaluable to us right now, he backs up every team mate.

Saliba is a Rolls Royce.

Zinchenko and Jesus brought a winning mentality and gave belief to our other players that this club were still capable of competing again merely by their decision to join from City.

Partey is a match winner for any team on any day when he’s fully fit.

Martinelli and Saka play every phase like the previous one didn’t happen, whether they’ve just scored or whether they’d lost the last 5 possessions.

Xhaka has not left a thing on the pitch this season, for me his best performance was against Leeds last week running off the ball and setting a standard for everyone else. The fact he has been reinvented and fully committed to that change of position deserves massive respect.

But to be honest, you can’t seperate any of them because each bring something special right now and the reason we’re seeing them flourish is because of Mikel Arteta.

He’s the man who gets all the credit. He’s brought in players who had something in them that made them buy into and project what we consider to be Arsenal DNA on the pitch from Ramsdale up to Jesus.

He set the standard, he believed the club deserved to play at and maintain a high level of performance and adopt a mentality deserving of its fans and traditions and he done it at a point in time where the club was stagnating with players who were not representing themselves or the club at the required level.

If we finish only 4th and bomb out of every cup competition after Christmas what he has done to turnaround the attitudes in the dressing room, in the boardroom and in the stands has just been outstanding.

All you need to do is see and hear our fans, particularly away as I did at Old Trafford this year, to realise its all been cultivated by Mikel Arteta.

{Ed014's Note - great post mate and I too didn’t want to forget Arteta, he’s changed me from a doubter to a believer!

Evening all Ed’s and fellow gunners hope alls well. Great posts you guys. and such a tough question. I think each and everyone of our squad have all upped their games the hurt of missing out on top four last season has really put some fire in them. my favourite player when fit and firing on all cylinders has got to be smith Rowe the lad is top draw. and our most impressive signing in the last few years has got to be the governor super MIK arteta.

You can see in his actions and hear in his voice the the love and respect he has for our great club and great fans and how much he wishes to make us great again. and like I said in a previous post a few weeks back that anyone who works under wenger and pep for the best part of eight and half years must have learned a fair bit about football and getting results. Because if you don’t learn of two of the most modern minds in football in that amount of time, your in the wrong game.

Arteta had to come into our great club when we were crumbling in so many ways, it was always going to take time to rid us of all the deadwood and money grabbing blood suckers that were not fit to call themselves gunners. He has re-installed the core values, discipline and standards this club always held dearly. & his myway or the highway attitude to the dossers of the club has laid the foundations to the ones who want to be there. sending the message that together we can achieve great things.

we are definitely moving in the right direction and long may it continue. Trust the process, we’ve got super MIK arteta ?⚪️✌?&?? To all you fellow gunners.

{Ed014's Note - evening Gabi, nice post and loving the word “dossers” ?

Hi Ed yes mate we had to many dossers for to long and now there all gone we really are getting our ARSENAL back.

{Ed014's Note - we sure did mate and it’s been good to see the back of them.

It’s a great feeling that’s for sure.

I know this isn't really on topic of whose your favourite player, but I think a lot of credit has to go to the people above Arteta as well for trusting him and sticking by him, when let's be honest most clubs would of sacked him when we were having the rough periods over the last couple years and that it was a lengthy process and didn't always look like he knew what he was doing, I'm sure reading this page that most fans, myself included doubted him. It would of been a popular decision to sack him and bring a fancy big name manager in, I'm glad they had patience.

{Ed014's Note - really good point eden and they have come in for some flack over the preceding years but seems like they decided Arteta was the man and they’ve back him to show it.

I, like you really doubted him over his handling of Saliba and would have been screaming for his head if he never kicked a ball for us, some how that's worked out, I'm on the fence over luck or judgement though! ? And I am still a bit annoyed because I do think Saliba would of been the difference last year, some day I might let it go ?.

{Ed014's Note - that was driving me crazy mate and I still worry about him signing a new contract and it being anything to do with him being dumped out on loan all that time.

Great question Ed, I think others have covered most of the obvious. For me, delighted to see the re-birth of Xhaka, who finally is being played in a role that suits his game, and w3 are seeing the benefit.

Zinchenko is another game changer, not yet through his performances, but he is clearly a winner, seen even by his antics on the subs bench.
Clearly 2nd place is not good enough for him, and I really like his attitude.

Finally, and as again, because the obvious choices have been covered, I am going to say Elneny. Ok strange choice, any many would argue he is not good enough, but for me, his attitude and effort have always been fantastic. Every team needs balance, some will be leaders, some will be soldiers, and Elneny is our soldier. Never throws his tools out the pram for not playing, and gives 100% when he does. Could, and should have left in the summer, but appears delighted that we offered him a new contract.

The feel good factor is back at the club, and I can’t help that he is part of that factor.

{Ed014's Note - great choice mate and it’s a shame he’s missing out through injury right now.

I think someone must have been reading your posts about Saliba last year Ed, we’ll give you the credit did that one!
I think he signs. I think he’s got enough about him to know that he’s been handled the right way up to now, even if we and he all thought otherwise. You just can’t argue that without Artetas influence and decision making that he’d have been the success story he has been thus far last season if not loaned out.
I think there’s a graveyard of players who listened to bad advice from outside influences to leave a club they were thriving at prematurely for the wrong reasons. We’ve had plenty of those and many wish they could turn back the clock.
I think this guy knows his stock can’t and won’t lower under this manager and in this league and time is on his side. He’ll sign for sure.

{Ed014's Note - thanks mate, and I really hope you’re right, he’s a huge asset for us in every sense!

{Ed014's Note - to be honest I wanted to as well Sally, they’ve all been so good.

So yes of course you can. ?

Lots of great choices on here. Xhaka in particular, warms my heart to see him playing so well and the fans taken to him after what he's dealt with, mostly from our end. Your team's fans are meant to back you, we didn't, and he copped it from both us and the media - and now we see that it was never really his fault, and you give him a chance in his proper position before you judge.

That said I've loved Eddie's attitude lately, he plays so much more aggressively and actively now and you can see that Jesus has inspired him to be better. I had a lot of respect for him after the way he acted in the documentary and to see him bust a gut every time he comes off the bench is fantastic.

Xhaka, it’s nice to see him play the way he does.
