What does everyone rate this window then out of 10? i'm going with a 7 - brought in some great players who massively improve both our first XI and squad, and got rid of pretty much all of the deadwood, whilst loaning out some of the younger players who appear to be smashing it at their loan clubs (ala Tavares, Patino, Balogun) . Shame we couldn't bring in another top right winger like Neto to rotate with Saka but can't have it all.

I see a lot of people complaining on twitter (even #EduOut trending) because we didn't sign a DM, but I don't see the logic in forking out 20m+ on a player who will be available to start literally 2-3 games prior to Elneny and Partey returning. That's also assuming they'd be up to scratch with our style of play!

I'm very happy with the squad we have now and seeing as we didn't sign anyone at the end, I'm presuming we will evaluate where we need to strengthen most between now - Jan and look to bring in a top player in the Jan window (hopefully learnt from our mistakes last year)

Colney, for me, we've had a top top window for all the reasons you've mentioned.

For me though this is a 10/ 10 window because for the first time in a long time, we seem to have addressed real issues with the squad. We did our business early and allowed new incomings to get up to speed.

COYG!

{Ed014's Note - Marquinhos has to be the one to rotate with Saka, looking forward to him and Vieira making the debuts.

Agree though, a great window.

Agreed RS, doing business early has been absolutely pivotal in our 100% streak so far, establishing pretty much our first team squad weeks before the PL started. I also love how we in the past 2 years we have signed PL-proven players, so you know exactly what you are going to get with your money.

Reason it wasn't a 10 for me was for two reasons:

-Didn't bring in a top RW to compete with Saka (but yes, as Ed014 has said, I'm excited to see Marquinhos there and I expect Vieira to get minutes there)

-Could've maybe done better in getting higher fees for some players/ selling those we clearly do not want as to loaning them with options etc

-Also really hoping Saliba and Saka sign contract extensions sooner rather than later.

Very pleased with the window, obviously would have liked a wide man but all in all a very good window. Like just stated looking forward to seeing Vieira and Marquinhos get their chance.

I know Elney is a long absentee but hopefully TP, Ode and Zin are slight knocks and will be back soon. Every team no matter how good you are needs the rub of the green when it comes to injuries, hopefully we will get that.

And whatever the management team and backroom staff are doing with this group of boys (because let's not forget, they're almost all young lads) , is fantastic.

I'm not getting carried away. I know we'll lose games. I'll stay true to what I've always said: I don't mind us losing as long as the players have actually made an effort.

These lads are all putting in an effort, in every game I've watched so far. Saka is off the boil, but you saw a little more of him against Villa.

Did anyone think Xhaka could be as good as he's been? For all the years we've all scratched our heads wondering how he kept making the starting 11, we'd miss him if he wasn't on now.

Something's in the water at Arsenal!

9/ 10 for and a vast improvement on the 0/ 10 days of 'so and so is like a new signing" hog wash.

I personally think it's a bit like Christmas and we should be happy about all the goodies we did get rather than focus on the things we would have liked but didn't get ?.

At the start of the transfer window I thought a new CM to replace Xhaka was an absolute must alongside a new striker, but right now he is currently undroppable! Never thought he'd be so much better in a more advanced position, in fact I actually thought he'd be far less effective.

Agree 100% with all the comments, it’s a 9 out of 10 at least, and thankfully we didn’t spoil it by making a silly panic signing on the last day. Let’s keep our powder dry until we have the funds to sign players who make a difference from day one, and not as in the past, who have been signed to try a fill a temporary gap. TP already has cover of Elneny and Lokonga, and it’s time for the latter to step up and prove his worth. Let’s be fair, how would it have been for his confidence if the minute he needs to play, we go out and sign someone else.

I'm saying 9/ 10 wanted to see a dm come in and a gironde type of striker as a different type of style if our style is not working.

Now you are where I'm at SB. I would definitely would have love to see a Giroud type of striker come even more than a DM. I believe Jesus can play anywhere across the front three, so very flexible. Martinelli and Saka are capable on either flank, so more flexibility.

I my eyes Nketiah is technically a better no. 9 than Jesus, but the latter is a better all-round football and likely will score more goals. However, did you notice Nketiah intelligence in the few minutes he can on? Would love to see him get more game time. Can only wait on see if he starts the EL games.

So yes a big no. 9 would be ideal and could prove necessary in the 2nd half of the season. Have those left available maybe Ivan Toney, but seems he has just pass the recruitment age threshold, but the process must have flexibility.

I am starting to feel less embarrassed now for sticking by Xhaka all these years. The guy just lack pace but he's got heart in abundance. There's no chance that all of a sudden become a better player at this stage - age/ career. He still could show more confidence and use his left/ weapon more.

Oh, did anyone notice how Tierney was lacking for pace? Let's hope he gets back to top form.

Still ABBA! The great reset! ??.
