No result against Chelsea and that has to be the end of his tenure

Out of interest Trish who would you have that we could get as our next manager?

That is the million dollar question, who could we get. Big boys like Conte, Zidane would not be interested i'd imagine. Nagelsman would have been my favourite, alas he will dominate at Bayern. I would push hard for Brendan Rogers, would be very difficult to pry him away from an excellently run club where he is valued highly, but if it could be done he would do bits for us!

{Ed001's Note - you know Nagelsmann is already getting abused by Bayern fans because he was on the books of 1860? It might not work out so well for him there if he doesn't get off to a flier and run away with the league. Though I can't see any reason they won't dominate.

If it was me, I would go all out for Marcelo Gallardo or maybe Adi Hutter, just because Ed77 has a hard on for Hutter and would be gutted if he joined another Prem team! Marco Rose and Graham Potter would both be interesting options too.}

Mal - what happened? Your opinion swings one way then the other. What happened to giving him time?

Thanks Trish.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate, sorry I didn't get the original post but whichever editor picked it up obviously didn't realise you were referring to me!}

I’d take Conte and let him ruffle a few feathers.

Didnt realise Nagelsmann was having a hard time of it, thanks Ed. Maybe a glimmer of hope haha, but like you say, sure he will dominate the league. Adi Hutter is a decent shout mind!

Haha lads, I was waiting for the comments from you both.

Sy, I suppose after Friday I realise the job is too big for him. I like Mikel and I’ll be disappointed it hasn’t worked out, but I’m an arsenal fan first.

I haven’t got a clue who will take the job if he goes, I’m not sure who will want the job with the way the club is run.

I am sure I read that BMunich also lost all their pre season friendlies as well. Also the two main club stalwarts, including KH Rumminiger have retired, leaving the whole recruitment situation to others, which is an area that Nagelsman doesn’t touch.

So unexpected pressure for him, but I am sure the results will come. Potter is an interesting choice. Unfortunately not the top name that could bring in international recruitment just because of that alone, but what he is achieving at Brighton is pretty exceptional, and they play attractive football to boot. My only slight issue is that they also play out from the back, so not a major change, but they do seem to do it very successfully, unlike us.

Fair play Mark mate, it's really healthy for us all to reconsider our opinions as events and information change, much better than defending something you no longer believe to be true out of stubbornness or habit mate 👏👏👏.

Hope you are well Mal. It’s sad that Arteta cannot cut the mustard as the only loser in that is us. I’m annoyed we wasted another window on him and 50m Ona defender who couldn’t command a youth team game. Sold the wrong keeper, wasted Saliba and signed junk like Luiz plus resigned a player who wanted to leave and is to slow in Granit. He’s really done our club a lot of harm as we are. Laughing stock with more issues to resolve for the next manager…it’s sad but respectful to see you change your mind - I’m gobsmacked it’s so quick as that was just one game and you were adamant he should have time. I won’t celebrate us being on the same page as I enjoy different opinions but mainly as that means our club is a mess. Anyway - respect to you and hope you are well.

Seems to be getting worse Mal. Too much heading of the ball has taken its toll. Sometimes I have a great chat with him and then other days it’s tough and he forgets a lot. Hoping Sutton and Co have a big impact for future youngsters in the game. Also that they support spouses / families who need to care as the money was good but nowhere near today and families need help.

He can’t wait to get to a game and see his beloved team play. Not sure he’s a fan of a lot of the players at present. He wanted Wenger out, didn’t rate Emery and I don’t think he rates Arteta at all. But he loves the club 100% and always has no matter where he was. Hoping to get to a game or two this season or next as not 100% sure how many more after that. The decline over a few years is shocking.

Thanks for asking.
