Next season is arteta’s last chance in my opinion, he’s got a reported 2/ 300 million to spend that’s a lot of money to come second and win the we beat Madrid cup again, I prey we win something next season, because arteta has turned this club into title contenders we just need that goal scorer and a new number 10.

I really believe with a more settled team without all the injuries we’ve had this season, and then adding a cf will win us the league next year.
The biggest worry for me is Ode’s drop off this season. I’d like to see Nwaneri start in front of him if he continues like this.

I agree he should get another year, but context is important - If we finish next season 2nd again but on 99 points do we still want rid?

I suppose the question is whether he has improved as a manager or not. Seems the jury is out in that. The next question is who would we bring in who is better?

I'm with you SW context is important and for me personally I'd take 99pts and second over 75pt 4th place and a league cup win every day of the week. But I accept for some fans it's all about silverware full stop and nothing else comes into the equation.
Different people have different values and view success in different ways to each other.

If he were to go Sallyjanine, if he could be persuaded, wouldn't mind Enrique, or Iraola. With everything in life though, it'd be a gamble as to whether things would improve. You'd obviously like to think so. Two sayings "nothing ventured, nothing gained". and "grass isn't always greener".
So I'm going to declare myself completely on the fence with this.

I used to think that maybe we needed someone different to Arteta to make that final step to winning things, but seeing what’s happened to clubs like Manu and Spurs makes you realise that things can go wrong very quickly.

To me manager swapping is a bit like a game of pontoon or black jacket HG mate.
United and Spurs have been stuck on 15 for age's and are currently stuck in a continuous loop of twist and bust while we are currently stuck on 20 and if we choose to twist we absolutely have to draw an ace to improve the hand we have. The potential for going bust is huge but should we get lucky and draw that ace then everyone will be happy.
The art of gambling is to never bet more than you are truly prepared to lose and if we are genuinely ready to accept a return to Europa league if things go wrong every bit as much we are prepared to accept the title if things go as we wish then we have absolutely nothing to lose by twisting on Arteta.

For the record I'm in with Arteta!
{Ed014's Note - me too Sally but he’s going to have to deliver something sooner rather than later for sure.

Hi Sally on a personal basis I'd stick with him too but I accept whatever the club chooses to do and whatever the majority of fans want the club to do.
I've really enjoyed the last 3 seasons more than any of the 15 or so seasons before them including this season, but the thought of a return to the days of the great Arsenal in out shake it all about debates fills me with dread ????.

If the club did twist, who is out there that could improve us? Realistically I can’t see anyone who is available and is better than Arteta.

And who could foster the same relationship with the players if that is indeed an important factor?

Like I say personally I'd stick because i'm not at all unhappy with either the players or the manger but ultimately it usually it comes down to weather the manager has or doesn't have the backing of the majority of the fans. It's been a difficult season with injuries and one or two other things but overall is second place in the league and a champions league semi final and still counting so terrible? Not for me personally it's not.

We have been very unlucky with injuries but that exposes another weakness the lack of depth in the squad. Not sure who is in charge of letting young players leave but in the last couple of years we have made some glaring mistakes with players who could have clearly done a job at Arsenal. Then there is the decision to play defenders or midfielders up front when there is young lads itching to get in and show what they are made of.
I still believe in the process but it needs to start bearing fruit sooner rather than later.

It's a headache sparky. Now that Saka is back how many minutes will Nwaneri get?
And I'm pretty sure he will be unhappy about that after being such a good stand in.

Sparky, we've been selling youth for PSR reasons, like most clubs. It's a great shame, but that's how the financial side is at the moment.

Great analogy with blackjack. Arteta has brought the old arsenal feeling back to all us fans. A great club with an amazing set of fans. Challenging at the top of the league and in Europe. I totally understand that silverware is what it’s all about. However the potential for a decade of mediocrity or relegation threat on a hasty decision? For me I’d rather be challenging, with a team who look like they want to play, together and for us. ? for tonight. COYG!
