Hey Ed's and team, been a while...
22/06/15 Ed002 said:
{Ed002's Note - Cech will happen and there remains interest in the others.}
Cech is now down, and there seems to be new updates on Schnidelin, Carvalho and Martinez...
Martinez has gone to Atleti
Schniderlin looks set for ManUtd i think....
Anthing new on Carvalho after his good u21 Euros?
(I have used the search function as you can tell ;) )
{Ed002's Note - Arsenal remain interested in Carvalho - as they have been for the past year or so.}

Hayden is back from injury and playing for the u21s tonight.
Potentially a player for DM and CB. Will this stop Wenger buying?
Probably.

Hey Ed's
Trying to save Ed002 some finger typing today.
Is this a good view on standings this morning?
CB:
- No Alderwield - off to Saints
- Sokratis - We have bid but need to up the bid if we actually want him
- Potential targets of Vlaar and Nastasic.
CDM:
- Carvalho - Main priority, Need to up the bid again though if we are going to sign him
- Anyone else standing out?
ST:
- Falcao isn't happening 29 this year and at double our top earners wages its just silly
- Bacca is our main priority, need to up the bid again though if this will happen
Basically We are trying to get bargains and it hasn't worked so its now put your money down or miss out?
Fair Summary Ed's?
1.) I get that Wenger has philosophy on wages and I'm glad for that. But look at United spending the money they have, if we want to stay in the top 4 we have to spend.
We need to up the bid for Carvalho & Bacca and get them asap or we're going to fall behind
2.) Agree Jonny. Looks doubtful though doesn't it!
3.) Worrying times Rob. Fingers crossed!

Lots of Journos "Reporting" Rabiot to Roma
Not again. haha!
{Ed002's Note - Roma are one of the clubs interested in Rabiot - as are Arsenal.}

Hi ed's - do you have any idea where all this Joel Campbell to go on loan nonsense is coming from? Is there anything behind it?
Wenger clearly stated yesterday Sanogo and Campbell are not for loan or sale this season?
Cheers
{Ed027's Note - Wenger wants to keep Joel, Yaya could be loaned

Can we argue exceptional talent and that paulista would bring excitement and enjoyment to England through scoring quality own goals?
I remember seeing a few videos of this!
1.) I think the fact he is 24 we could struggle. But I don't get the work permit in football issue. His taxes alone would do Britain some good. he's not coming to work on asda and won't be on benefits
{Ed002's Note - I pay my tax but still need a work permit.}
2.) 21 Jan 2015 18:58:55
Seen the one against Barcelona, should be voted goal of the season:)
3.) 21 Jan 2015 20:26:38
He's a right sided CB so could pair with Kos over BFG
4.) Your post totally swings it for me Ozil, sign him what ever the price it will be fantastic value for money
19 Jan 2015 09:18:16
Is having a strong bench with Theo, Ozil, Wilshere, Gibbs and Welbeck all potentially struggling to get into the team a bad thing?
We have really good squad depth in some places - another CB and some sort of replacement for Flamini would be lovely though!
04 Jan 2015 18:21:47
Hi EDs. Heard about the CDM targets. What about CBs? Hummels you have mentioned. Are we looking at people like schar and Perrin? They're the names I've seen thrown around!
{Ed002's Note - Read the posts - or use the search engine.}

Can anybody answer me this?
Yeah we conceeded 5 last year so there is improvement.
But how, after that shocking performance yesterday - did we score 2 goals?
Sort out mid and defence and we have something?

1.) Im not sure we have improved, I don't see that. Liverpool have definately gone backwards too, at an alarming rate. Two poor teams for me, when you look at last years promise.
2.) 22 Dec 2014 14:18:36
Improvement up top though? I feel we have a strikeforce that can actually do something.
either that or we just have Alexis (unfortunately on a dry run. )
3.) 22 Dec 2014 14:51:31
This time last year we were 1 and 2 in the league. now what 7 and 11? Disgrace
4.) 22 Dec 2014 15:20:11
Its a total mess I agree. But if We buy in January to solidify ourselves in DM and CB positions I think we then have an extremely strong squad.
We aren't far off. Unfortunately the areas we are missing are costing us point after point after point.

What is a good result on Wednesday? Usually I would say a win and nothing else. Especially with the circumstances.
Realistically though - are we just best off with a draw? Are we really going to be able to challenge them physically?
I don't know what tactics to run with but it has to include Chambo, Alexis and Welbeck to keep running and an energetic midfield to keep up with the German powerhouses.
If everyone gets warn out so be it, it's only West Brom at the weekend - only West Brom.
1.) West brom away is not easy. early kick off too we hate them. I think we will drop points
2.) At this moment any team we play against would fancy strongly their chances against us, confidence is shot to pieces, from the moment of kick off, it's only a matter of time before the other team scores (in their minds and ours).
The philosophy has to change, I think the squad is OK, not great but OK, and with proper management / tactics could be on for another top 4 finish.
3.) We will get a point off one them if not Dortmund then definitely the mighty Albion away, who knows may be back to back points with one from each.
We will not relinquish our 4th place trophy or our last 16 place exit to Bayern or Barca without a fight, come on you Gunner's
21 Jan 2015 15:10:48
Disagree that Welbeck was unfortunate. he isn't number one but he is better that what we had last year for backup.
Lets be serious here.
Giroud, Welbeck, Alexis, Theo, Campbell, Akpom.
Thats how I see our striking situation for the rest of the year.
Gomis would be a waste of time.
*Sits Back and waits for reply*
Everyone loves a bit of a fight!
I don't agree that Mertesacker is as bad as you make out Ed. But I do agree that he is carried by Kos and should not be the core of our defence.
A new defensive signing should be able to push him out no problem. He was never first choice when Vermaelen was actually half decent!
13 Oct 2014 09:28:52
No Chance,
Wenger loves Ozil to bits - he will keep on trying with him to prove a point - we all know he is too stubborn!
Agree Jonny. Looks doubtful though doesn't it!
26 Jan 2015 09:50:55
Cazorla.
21 Jan 2015 15:11:54
Did we not sign Miyachi though that clause?
Also is that how Willian and Oscar got to Chelsea - I know Oscar was playing in the under21s not sure about the firsts.
21 Jan 2015 09:32:21
There will be those who say his injury was his fault still though.
Everyone saw he was hacked down and McNair went unpunished.
19 Jan 2015 09:15:31
And your point is?
It is a bit of a shock considering how much playtime he has had but he has been around for a long long time. Looks like he has matured into a reliable player. let's hope he can continue this form throughout the season!
16 Jan 2015 09:07:08
Gnabry is back in training - saw some pictures posted last week around the web think he had a setback after his initial return but that last part is speculation
Diaby is just a lost cause unfortunately - last season we would have to worry about where he is.
Arteta has just been announced as 6 weeks not 3 months and Wilshere returns next month with Danny Welbeck back in 2 weeks.
