hi ed, any truth in Arsenal signing Mykola Matviyenko from shaktar? would be a quality signing IMO. has an awesome left foot. but i only saw him in the game against man city. seems like a very possible signing too.

h2z_gunner

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal would need to spend well over the the odds to ensure a work permit. My understanding remains there is no offer on the table, for Mykola Matviyenko (CB).}

Is their any updates with players were interested in ED. Theirs all this paper talk about links but what’s true is another story.

{Ed002's Note - A loan may suit until Saliba arrives, or a more economically viable player but don't expect vast sums spent.}

2.) 23 Jan 2020 07:22:10
do you see us bringing anyone in Ed we are crying for cover at the back.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot comment of timings of transfers.}

3.) 23 Jan 2020 14:06:20
ty for your insight ED.

4.) 23 Jan 2020 14:10:24
also ED, he has 26 appearances for the Ukrainian national team, with some of them being in the euro qualifiers. will he still need a work permit?

{Ed002's Note - Of course he needs a work permit.}

5.) 26 Jan 2020 08:23:38
Always amazes me that a premiership footballer would ever have a work permit turned down. Never going to be claiming dole money are they

Do you want a guy to come in on a 5 year deal and pay a lot of tax via his wages. Yes. Thanks.

hi ed,

what is your opinion of jean seri from nice? is he a possible target for Arsenal? after seeing him play i feel he would be the perfect player to replace santi. the african cup of nations every 2 years is the only negative i see so far.

h2z_gunner

{Ed002's Note - He is attracting the attention of a number of leading sides including Arsenal.}

hi ed,

could the purchase of mikhi be to compensate for ozil's eventual departure in the summer?

are there any clubs still interest in him?

h2z_gunner

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

1.) 23 Jan 2018 19:54:30
Yes h2z he s leaving like Sanchez, like all the rest who are waiting waiting to move on.

Once a gooners. blah blah.

2.) 23 Jan 2018 20:07:47
Well he won't be going to spuds. He only plays for teams with ambition and can win trophies. Always in our shadow.

3.) 23 Jan 2018 20:38:32
somebody's a little touche.

4.) 23 Jan 2018 20:51:51
Yes we are all a little touche whatever that means. Remind me again when was the last time spuds won a trophy, how many light years ago was it. And let's see how many months is it since arsenal won one. Anyway let us get on looking forward to all our new signings, its ever so exiting.

5.) 23 Jan 2018 21:13:12
And if Steve says that, I am excited😉thanks Steve.

6.) 23 Jan 2018 21:16:13
at least your learning SR. progression.

With so much interest in seri from other clubs i doubt that we will get him. My question is are we interested in Vincent Koziello? personally i believe he could be amazing alongside Xhaka as he is very similar to santi but with better defensive skills.

I think Benrahama would be a good signing. there is a reason he is called the Algerian Messi. very technical, has pace, dribbles like a freestyler, good eye for a pass and can bend em into the far post of the goal.

his potential is high but he is still very raw. with arteta and the rest of the coaching staff showing they are able to get the most of the players at their disposal, this just might be a shrewd but potentially very good signing IMO.

i think we should sell Laca and use those funds to buy dayot. that might be the case since arteta has chosen to keep eddie at the club rather than loan him out. i don't see the point in having 2 elite strikers. keeping auba and selling laca will also bring more balance to the team as it will allow martinelli, saka and nelson more game time, something they desperately need. hope arteta decides to take this route as we desperately need a CB.

As G62 said, we got it wrong and there is nothing bad about that. it is a process and progression not regression is key. but with the team playing so badly and the team becoming more and more boring, progression can be safely ruled out.

hence this man at the helm must be overthrown and mutinied against. he was not good enough when we hired him and he will never change or improve. he is a mid table manager. though calling him a manager is unfair, he is at best a coach.

watching the game yesterday made me sad and then that sadness turned into anger because we were being outplayed by a team we should be destroying and would have destroyed under Wenger. when Leicester destroy us on Saturday i hope the board become more proactive and sack the clown.

as MG said earlier, finally!

i follow this site religiously but don't post much. but i like talking tactics so couldn't resist.

in my opinion sokratis should be dropped. a pairing of chambers or holding should be tried with luiz in a flat back 4 and if that doesn't work then let holding and chambers have a go. with a back 5 so many of our players can't play to their strengths. a flat back 4 is the only way forward.

also i would really like y'all to let me know what you think about this. if ozil was moved into a deeper role, much like pirlo played for juve and ac milan. i'm not saying he's as good as pirlo but when it comes to passing and vision he is still one of the best in the world. pair ozil with a DM like lucas and play a box to box MF like ceballos or willock.

pirlo was also paired with DM players like marchisio or gattuso to offer protection, because he was never an amazing tackler and chose to only cover his zones much like how ozil operates.

______________Leno_______________

bell cham/ holdin Luiz tierney

Torriera (DM)

will/ ceb Ozil

Laca (CF)
Pepe Auba

what do you guys think? would that bring more stability and creativity that we desperately need? am i a dreamer? COYG!

just an opinion. but considering emery prefers to play out from the back, would he not need great CB's for that?

with the current lot, the most stable i saw our defense was during the Chelsea game. bell, kos, pappa, kola. those 4 together had a great game till bells injury. so i don't think that emery is incapable of setting up a good defense, just that he does not have the personnel. the second mustaphi comes into the fray, we are done for. takes too much time on the ball. personally i think he has an IQ that matches a donkey. gets caught out by players from teams like Huddersfield. with bell and pappa injured, along with monreal being too old and injury prone, we are going to need to revamp this whole back 4. but between the back 4 at chelsea i saw hope, only with my hope to die with bells injury and not soon after papp's at united. again mustaphi came on and ruined the game!

since i've watched football, all great teams who have achieved greatness have one thing in common, a very good defense. a solid defense gives your offensive players the confidence and opportunities to play to their strengths. so in short i don't think Dick has done an amazing job or even a good job. but we need to give him time to reshuffle the back line and hopefully sign some wingers. COYG!
