Brentford boss Thomas Frank was absolutely right. Kai Havertz had no right to be on the pitch when he scored the winner in Arsenal's 2-1 win over Brentford. The Germany international, having received a caution for throwing his elbow, elected to dive in the Brentford penalty area in order to try to seek a clear advantage.

However, what was more troubling was that referee Robert Jones refused to do anything about it, even though the Brentford defenders were waving an imaginary card in the air in an attempt to bring the incident to his attention.

For Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to then glorify the "manner of the win" in his post-match interview, having seen him gloating with Havertz at the end of the game, was a poor advert and only served to rub salt in Brentford's wounds.

Fortunately for Arsenal, White was on hand to play a pivotal role in Arsenal's victory over the Bees. Two beautifully floated crosses provided excellent assists in what was otherwise a rather grubby affair by the Gunners. If Arsenal are going to win the title please don't win it like this. - Garth Crooks sounds bitter this week.

Inforous Inforous, they've all got it in for us! And there's poor old us, our players and our manager who never ever do or get anything wrong ever ever ever at all, but still they've all got it in for us
???

Stop the steal ????.

Try jumping for a football with your elbows in Gunglist. Kai eye was on the ball not on the player, should have never been a yellow in the first place.

{Ed014's Note - Garth Crooks though, that guy is so bitter, if he gives one of our boys a spot on his joke of a team of the week he has to slag off Arsenal in it! ?

He gave that clown Garnacho a spot in his team last week just because he’d won two penalties! Wtf ???

3.) 14 Mar 2024 08:50:47
I'm not in the slightest bit worried about Garth Crooks opinion never have been, but the fact remains just like all other clubs sometimes we get lucky with decisions and sometimes we get hard done by just like everyone else.

In my opinion the poor old victim mentality Arsenal let's us down, we are back in the big time 100% on merit our being humble image if much more befitting of this team than our same old Arsenal always moaning image of the past. If we want to be humble both champions but be seen as dignified and humble champions we have to take knocks on the chin the same as we take the lucky breaks in our stride.

This thread seems to have taken an odd twist. These aren't Gung's words. He's quoting some crook plonk.

Just read that Gallas has been slating our players mentality as the reason we didn't win the league and the reason we're sitting at 4th and wanted to ask about peoples memories of Gallas. My memory is short because I was a teenager at the time but pretty sure I remember him having a shoddy mentality as captain and despite perhaps being okay for one season, overall I remember him as being pretty poor! Wondered what others with a better memory than myself thought about him. Is it hypocritical for him to comment? Is he just trying to get himself heard through talking breeze? Or does he genuinely have a point?

I like to think I have a fairly good memory, William Gallas’ time at Arsenal was in the main forgettable at best.

2.) 18 Jan 2024 09:22:31
Gallas … what a ?. did naff all at Arsenal. supposed to be a leader. he’s definitely in the top 5 worst ever Arsenal signings. baffled as to why we signed him in the first place.

3.) 18 Jan 2024 18:07:18
#1 memory of him is Birmingham City away in 2008.
He sat down in a strop. Was captain at the time.
Not one to talk about mentality.

4.) 18 Jan 2024 23:29:45
Gallas was a rock at his peak but due what happened to eduardo in the Birmingham game he had a mental breakdown at the end of the game. If you saw eduard’s leg you wouldn’t blame him plus the realisation that was the end of the opportunity to be premier league I think the whole team mentally collapsed. Not a leader but not a waste in my opinion understands how important mentality is to winning the league.

5.) 19 Jan 2024 15:16:08
Not going too much into Gallas' mentality but i'm of the opinion that he should have a right to comment even if he himself didn't have the strongest mentality. I myself haven't played proper football since i was 13 and yet i feel i should have a right to voice my opinion.

Nice to see varied responses. Absolutely Iceman, the the right to voice opinions is what makes the site so great and discussions around football so engaging! I too believe Gallas has a right to voice his opinion and was just looking to drum up a discussion around it to see if people remember his time differently to me. I think the media also take snippets and quotes from other sources without context which often makes things said sound wildly different to the original but I suppose Murdoch and his cronies have to make money somehow and clicks on articles generate revenue!

Laca spoke about players not respecting the managers game plan against WHU when talking about ending up 3 down but turning it around. When was the last time PEA as captain spoke to the press? To be honest I think we'd be better off with Laca as captain with the young crowd around him than we are with PEA. Perhaps Mikel is impacting the young willing to listen, but not the experienced unconvinced he can teach them anything and Laca just revels in playing, scoring and helping the others. If only Mikel would stick with that formula long enough to find out.

Hi guys. Great site eds! Just writing really to enquire as to whether anyone on this page will expect to have access to FA cup final tickets. I understand the allocations have not yet been released, but does anybody know how Arsenal are expected to prioritise their allocation? I will have no chance myself as living in Devon makes going to most games too costly. However if there was anyway of getting a couple tickets to Wembley for me and my old man we would jump at the opportunity. Any information/help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Going for 1-0 against Chelsea this weekend btw. Coyg.

Hi hung

I've heard rumours the allocation will be in the region of 22,000 seats. Last year the first cut was gold members with 7 or more away points. This year may be slightly higher

I'm gold with 15 so I think I will be ok but am not sure lol

To be honest I think if Wenger can teach Welbeck to express himself in the striker role he could be a class player for us. The boy does have bags of ability/potential though he isn't what I would consider really young anymore. I reckon Wenger knows how he wants to mould this young lad. Time will tell I say and good luck to the lad.

Thanks for insight Ed002. The whole makeup of the club at current is concerning me. Sounds like we’re a bit of a ticking time bomb….

Hi Ed, you point to Gabriel as an unhappy bunny. Another case of Arteta and a personality clash? Big trouble if so.

{Ed002's Note - The issues with the players like Gabriel and Salisu are about more than that.}

Yes Wilfred I saw them and after the cheap cheap yellow he got for a player running into his arm I’m not surprised he pulled out of what could have been a second yellow offence I don’t think that means he was poor. Think about it properly.

I’d compare Fernandinho to my Volvo v70. Solid, practical and reliable, despite the 250,000 miles on the clock.

Are Lizard people the highest tier of far-fetched conspiracy chat over there or has anybody ever mentioned 'Aliens, pyramids and landing zone' in the same sentence? (I got some real mental friends). Big ups To eds on the running of this place. Rare poster, frequent reader. Not great at wording how I feel about our club, or too busy working/sleeping to figure it out!
