Now let's get Romeo Lavia!

Strong window so far (unsure about Kai - cost, crazy wages and do we need him) based on reports on musicals plus new contracts signed. Let's get a forward and Romeo. ?.

I'm really excited about Havertz.

I wish I was - what have you seen in him and what’s he going to offer us? Where do you think he will play and will he start?

Is he really worth ruining our hard work on wage bill giving him of all people 330k per week?

Blind faith probably ? it is crazy on the face of it, but Arteta obviously convinced edu he has big plans for him and he is worth the high fee and wages.

There's no way it's not Arteta's decision, Edu would hardly have gone, I'm going to do whatever it takes to buy Havertz and you're going to find a way to play him, cool?

So he's probably staked a bit of his reputation on it, because it is seemingly pretty stupid to buy a player who's just had a terrible season, will his judgement be trusted again if it goes pair shaped?

I think he's going to play midfield, for the fee and the wages I'd say he's got to be a starter, he played there mainly at Leverkusen and it's the only real opening. He's very technically gifted and was likened to a hybrid between Ozil, Ballack and Kroos, who knows if he's still got it.

But I find the prospect exciting, a midfield of Rice, Havertz and Ode, should be really technical and a joy to watch with the ball, maybe it will be weak without the ball, but I think Zinchencho and Timber will push into midfield allowing Odegaard and Havertz to push up and feed the front 3.

Maybe it will be a horror show and we get ripped apart, or he won't be played there at all, but it is such a bizarre left field signing I'm really positive and excited to see what the plans are.

Feels very light weight with him and Ode. Ant see that standing up against a top side home or away. Concern for it makes Ode even less effective than he already is in big tight games - think he’s poor when it’s a tight game with limited time on the ball. You wouldn’t play Ozil in the Granit role….
I thought may be a plan B as a Giroud role as we have no plan B at all
Such a risk and hoped you were going to help me ?.

I remember people writing off Ramsdale as an expensive mistake and stating the evidence for their claims about him that he'd been the keeper in 2 relegated teams in the 2 seasons prior to joining us.

Ramsdale hasn't do to badly and in my opinion neither has Ben White.

Well we will have to wait and see, maybe it will be weak and lightweight, maybe it will be fluid and great, how it will unfold is exciting to me. Our thoughts don't really matter anyway, you can either embrace it or be disheartened about it, but it will happen anyway. What will be will be.

Correct but half the issue was selling Emi for a low fee and he was a great keeper and good with his feet. We only got 20m for him, put up with some other dude who was useless and signed Ramsdale for a lot more money. He’s done great but personally I would have been happy with emi and more money. Ramsdale’s doing good - not the best distributor of the ball and a couple big mistakes at the business end of the season but overall a very solid signing. Certainly pulled off some outstanding saves that kept key points on the board and has a great attitude.

Ben White is an expensive player and I’d rather spend 50m on a proper right back or a proper defender. He’s done OK but happy if the new guy replaces him especially if he’s only 5ft 10 and poor in the air. Not seen him, just going on what I’ve read. Hopefully complete BS as he looks good on paper.

I agree Eden, it's always a case of let's wait and see with any player you sign, Jesus has been a fantastic singing but I think most people were hoping for more goals from him last season while Trossard was a less popular arrival who shocked most people in a good way. You never really know until a player actually plays in your side what will happen.

Not just Ramsdale g69 others as well inc Odegaard!
Not quite sure why people still doubt the current transfer business but as they state “ our money” they must be major shareholders I guess ?‍♂️ I’m sure that most of the Man City fans from 20 years or more are also posting worried about how much their club are paying for players and wages when they have a full trophy cabinet.

Hi 373 mate, personally I am happy to go with whatever the club deems right simply because I personally believe they have earned the right to be trusted. We fans always think we know best and are always quick to point out when a player we predicted would do well shines at another club but usually forget to mention all the players we tipped for greatness and criticised Arsenal for not signing who flop badly elsewhere ?. Humans are funny aren't they ???.

Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari, Luiz, Willian, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Alex Runarsson, White to an extent and Fábio Vieira mean that they should not be beyond questioning. Nothing wrong with raising questions or not blindly saying every signing is great.

Hi SY I agree it's as unwise to say any new player will be wonderful as it is to say another new player will be a waist of money. Who was the Spanish lad we signed and people got really excited about a few years back? But as both he and Randale prove it's always best to wait and see, and that of course includes Rice.

Seriously SY? Those players were either all signed as squad players or at a reasonable fee to fill a gap and yet again you are slating some of them when they haven’t even had a chance to play! Cedric was signed as cover and had some really good games at right/ left back when called upon, Fabio viera and Tomi haven’t even had a chance to prove themselves as yet and tomi before he was injured had some excellent games.

Hi, not saying they are useless but they were bang average and for. E means that the club can be questioned. Thought Jorginho was a poor signing as nowhere near a Partey replacement. Think we left ourselves short and exposed at times. So yes I feel they should be questioned. Think White was a waste of 50m as not a quality centre back hence Saliba plays now….

White played most games last season SY and I thought had a pretty good season at RB, even won a place in England's WC squad, he must have done something right somewhere mate.
