Just a few points in the midst of all this madness;

Finances are tight due to (a) Mikel inheriting an unbalanced squad of players, many on huge wages, with low sell on values (b) Nervousness around the global financial situation. We cannot blame Mikel or Edu for this.

We need if realise that if we want to get both Partey and Arour, we will have to sell the following players;

Hector (20 - 25m)
Emi (20m)
Guendouzi (15m if we get takers)
Sokratis (3 - 5m)
Torriera (20m)
Chambers (10m if lucky)
Mustafi (12m if lucky)

If we managed to shift the above (difficult with injured players) we might be able to get our two targets.

I would not sell either of Laca or Saed as it's a long season and we could be light in those positions unless we are going to view Saka as cover for left back.

People might not be too happy with this but we are where we are and this is probably the best case scenario.

I agree with that TM, but I fear that we may have to sell a crown jewel if we want those signings. If you own a business that is desperate for cash, and you have a clapped out Ford Focus And a nice Ferrari sitting on the drive, as much as it hurts you know you will have to flog the Ferrari, probably below market value, to get the cash that will make a difference. I fear we are just not going to get decent fees for those players, and that just leaves Lacca or Aubameyang, with the latter being the one to be sold if he doesn’t sign the new contract.

If only we could sell the above and get Ozil off the wage bill (even without a fee for him) we would be ok.
