Hi Ed002 thought i`d ask hoping you`ll help ed014 with his blood pressure! Are Arsenal the club who have bid for Tielemans and are we trying to purchase Mudryk? Appreciate if you still don`t want to give info. Have a great day COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Youri Tielemans (CM) right now he will not sign a new contract so will be available in the summer at a reduced fee. His agent confirmed that there is interest from Real Madrid who are looking for a Luka Modric replacement, interest from Spurs and that he has been approached by a third party representing Newcastle. He is aware that other clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool, have scouted the player but not declared an interest. Interest of the Manchester sides has probably gone as both are looking at other midfield options but they will be back if they cannot get their first choice players - and MU are struggling. Arsenal and Juventus provide wildcard options but Arsenal will have to focus on fixing other issues in the squad first and Juventus, whilst needing significant midfield changes are looking to preferred options. I suspect that Real Madrid will shift their interest leaving Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal to work on a transfer. Klopp has said that Liverpool are not looking for a midfielder; oh but they are; no their not...................

Mykhaylo Mudryk (LW) Tentative agreement has been reached with the player and Shakhtar Donetsk for a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen - he would be a Diaby replacement. Arsenal asked after his availability at the start of the transfer window and are now keen to try and sign the player, but there is a significant difference in valuations and leaving it so late in the window makes clearance of international paperwork difficult.}

Great to have you back Ed, and we appreciate the detailed insight your providing.
I’m curious if you have any idea on the agreed fee between Shaktar and Leverkusen as obviously it would have to be matched by us?
I ask because we have clearly spent a substantial amount with diminished returns in outgoings and surely we must be coming to a point where we have to compromise or prioritise on either a winger or CM.
Signing Tielemans at this point does little to solve the DM issues and mobility issues when Partey is unavailable. Signing any winger I have seen us linked with will inevitably affect spending power for said CDM or CM.
So is it safe to assume we will be prioritising a CDM or versatile CM and maybe looking to put faith in Reiss Nelson and Marquinhos as cover for other competitions and as the season goes on?
I just cannot see two £30M plus players coming into the club before the window shuts without a shock sale.
Cheers Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Don't expect too much for the last two days from me. (1) I am not going to discuss finances. (2) I would not make assumptions.}

That’s sound Ed we appreciate your time when you can spare it.
I knew you wouldn’t get into the fees but had to ask hahah. I only tried to tap into what you might know as I’m thinking if there were indeed £30-£40M there how much better it would be to test Palace for Zaha entering the last 12 months of his contract than the other linked wingers, but again I can only see a CM coming now and we go with what attackers and widemen we have.
Cheers Ed.
