I'd happily take him as a long as we get another totally different kind of striker like Gyokeres so we have options. always desperate to get into the box and score, and as others have said he's an Arsenal fan and would likely work even harder than at villa (although his workrate is already great) .

I'm feeling that strength in depth might start being more critical than normal this season - not just for competitions but also for using the full 5 subs every game, and it could make all the difference being able to bring on fresh legs but quality too if other teams can. Uncomfortable (for football generally) that 5 subs is heavily weighted towards teams with money.

Think you are right Jim and our bench was a disaster come Jan and we didn’t add ?
Think we have upgraded just one position in starting 11 and not addressed the obvious - striker and left wing. Can’t believe in 3 years we can’t find a striker but still capable of signing a Chelsea player again that we don’t really need. It’s like they just want to pxxxx us off. We’ve gone from talking about great signings and not wasting our money on a second rate striker to signing a Saka cover and no striker at present. Where’s the ambition. Still time but hell, our negotiations are as slow as our 24/ 25 attack.
