Now the dust has settled, I can't help but feel some sadness with Aubameyang. Hate how it ended for him. can't hide from the fact that he has been pretty poor the past 18 months, without anyone really understanding why. But prior to this, for me, he was a superstar! I was praying he signed a new contract at the time, really believing he would trigger a new chapter at the club. I really wish him well and hope he rediscovers his goal scoring at Barca. Thanks for the memories Auba14!

For me he didn’t get the service he had when he first joined then when he didn’t he started snatching at chances and missing them…I blame arteta for that for the way we play most of the time.

Did Auba miss havibb Ozils supplying him? Just a thought given his huge drop in form did seem to coinside with Mesut being frozen out.

no idea how you can blame Arteta for aubas poor form and poor attitude.

I am assuming you are in the camp of when we win it's the players that get him out of it and nothing to do with him and when we lose it's all poor tactics and Arteta's fault.

I feel like Auba has had 2 arsenal journeys one before the new contract where he was one of the top 3 strikers in Europe and then one after where he scored in something like 14 outs of his last 54 games.

personally, I am glad he has gone and I think Arteta handled it well, by making his mind up and sticking to it and then finding a resolution to get him away from the club. which is best for the player and the club.

it's not the form that I am most disappointed about for Auba as that can happen but from the outside looking in it's the attitude from a captain of arsenal, where I feel it was poor. and the whole Afcon moment where he had the chance to show himself in a positive light with all that was going on and he chooses to go out clubbing and test positive for C.V.

at the same time, same as you lefty, I wish him all the best for the future. just glad its not at Arsenal.

For me, he was never quiet the same player after he missed a sitter Vs Olympiakos that knocked us out of the EL.
Wasn’t his fault we lost but that miss did cost us. Had flashes of brilliance during C.V./ no fans. cup final etc but that seems like a significant moment to me.

I think its sad it ended this way. Creative people are often complex and probably don't take well to rigid structures.

That saying I was concerned when Auba wouldn't sign a new contract until the numbers were mind-blowing.

What are our tactics from what I see all we do is play it down the left to tierney or martinelli they cross it over to nobody in the box…happens time and time again.
