liverpool fan in peace,
I like Arsenal fc a lot, good team,
but how do you rate Mertesacker? don't see anything in him to justify a starting spot.

If a player gets close to him his timing in a tackle is usually spot on, he's fantastic in the air as long as unchallenged and he isn't required to get off the ground at any piont, he isn't able to read the game while the balls in play but can usually spot when we've conferred a goal from quite a distance.
He is very rarely out injured but does get a lot of colds and tummy aches which can keep him out for 2 to 3weeks at a time, he is excellent at berating Mesut Ozil when he steps out of line by being upset just because Arsenal have been torn apart the opposition,
