I don't want to start another debate on ozil because we have done him to death and i want him to be the player for us that he should. But just to quote his stats is very misleading. His passing stats are great, but a lot of his key passes are corners and dead balls, so that's going to pump that stat up. I want to see him head the ball tackle, score goals, run like he means it, track back, show passion, take afew more players on a little bit more and then i might start liking and appreciating him a bit more. Just being the best passer of the ball in the whole of the world (if that's what he is) is not enough for me. I find him very frustrating to watch.

For me i will always judge ozil on his influence on games. Chances created, goals scored and key passes. he's not a defensive mid, he wasnt signed to make tackles or track back. Otherwise we might aswell sign Dirk Kuyt because he will do the job really well.

He played under for Mourinho for 3 years, if he was that bad in terms of work rate then he wouldve shipped out a long time ago. Just look at Kaka, Mata and De bruyne.

I find Ozil really fustrating sometimes, i always feel there more to come from him. But if you watch his game closely he always does demand the ball and always does try to make things happend. Even during his bad spell in his first season he was still looking for the ball. He does care and does try to make things happend and the Arsenal players do trust him.

He is never going to put an unbelieavble shift it and he is never going to win sky sports over. Looks like fabregas is on thier hit list now and how he doesn't work hard enough and chelsea are suffering because of it. But you have to remember he went from playing with Benzema and Ronaldo to Giroud and Walcott.

For me if Ozil performance should get critizied it should always be for his lack of productivity and not his work rate. Strikers are judged on goal and CAM should be on productivity. Otherwise welbeck is the best CF in the world because he does work his socks off.

I still don't get it your talking like its his duty to put in a defense shift, he has created more this season for arsenal than been responsible for letting goals in. Blimey why doesn't anybody on here slate sanchez instead?? He has been the biggest culprit of missed chances thus far...

Plus in simple terms he's one of top play makers in the game. If we put away just half of the chances he makes we would be flying away at the top

Steve it seems you don't know who Ozil is and how he works. All your wishes will never come true. He is a lazy genius, but a genius all the same. If we had clinical strikers. You would appreciate him more.

We can wish more attributes for our players. I wish Walcot wad taller, I wish Per had more pace, I wish Ramsey was more consistent. ozil creates chances, and I think he does that brilliantly

Rue what on earth are you saying, you say it as if i'm the only one in the world that says negative things about ozil. i'm not and i'm not the only person who thinks he's not the business. i'm not in the minority, i'm not being awkward or argumentative its what i see and feel about someone who will never be an arsenal legend unless he changes. If he is only a pass master, that is never going to make him an arsenal great. If we only have his passing to rely on, then hecwill always be a target. I think mystyfier asked why don't people pick on sancez. Well because when he isn't scoring he's fighting. When ozil isn't passng he's well not passing, speaks for itself really.

I want Ozil to keep his energy for pushing forward and creating chAnces

We have Coq to spend his energy defending

Do you want Coq attacking also? May be Cech should try to score more goals :)

Seriously - it's a team game and everyone has their role to play

No i think Steve wants to sell Ozil and buy Fellani instead. He is a player that run around, wins headers makes tackles and put his elbow in people face.

The reason why Sanchez doesn't get picked on is because he scores goals. Giroud and Welbeck give it they all but they still get critizied. Simply because they don't stick the ball in the net.

Ozil biggest flaw is that he doesn't score enough goals. If he starts scoring 20 goals per season or starts scoring in big matches no one will be talking about his work rate.

He played for Germany in the world cup as a left winger. Played for Mourinho for 3 years. he's work rate is not as bad as people think.

Steve I feel like you want Ozil to be someone else. He never will, he is ozil, we bought him to create chances and that's what he does.

Noodles your last two sentences are the most sense you written, trouble is he's not doing it and that's a big problem. His goall scoring record is poor for his ability, he doesn't want the responsibility and that's telling. In the game yesterday he took a fracture of a second too long to pull the trigger, lost the angle because he was thinking of passing instead of shooting and missed, should be more greedy.

The problem with ozil coming was we didn't need him. Cazorla was fine as a number 10 scored a lot of goals in his first season. A striker or a DM would of been better for us. Suarez was the one.

{Ed025's Note - every team needs quality players derby, and to say he was not needed is very short sighted mate, and although i think he can be a bit moody at times there is no doubting the guys quality..

I see your point derby, it was great to sign him at the time but ramsey next to coq santi 10 sancez left ox/walcott right and suarez for 10mil more than we offered has a nice balance to it. He was not the essential signing we needed, but he was available.

Eds on the list of positions we needed to fill. His was way down on the list mate. he's a good player but he's not this worlds best num10 people make out

Cazorla was better versus Stoke in my view the guys class. And with him pushed back I think we miss his shooting from the edge of the box. His first season cazorla was excellent there

{Ed025's Note - i like santi derby...but if fans were surveyed i think 90% would say ozil is the better player, that does not mean you are wrong though..just blind.. :)

So your calling me a long haired Dutch man who puts balls into the top corner. Lol

Cazorla got double figures playing num10. Btw stones today so good

{Ed025's Note - love it derby..

Yesterday I mean John stones was epic

{Ed025's Note - he has the potential to be a great player mate, i just hope its at everton..

It won't be at Everton and we both know that ed. although the thought is nice. The whole ozil debate doesn't draw me in. I'm glad we have him and in hindsight we have two players who can play there I like Ramsey further forward but caz also. But he's here and on his day ozil can do things they can't . Ozil is very ugly though

I don't think cazorla gets enough credit. His delivery is outstanding. Best two footed player on the planet?

{Ed025's Note - hes a very decent player derby...get a room mate.. :)
