Loved the passion and more direct style. Also preferred a double CM with proper midfielders not Ode and ESR bodging a partnership with Partey but really leaving him in his own. May be with todays passion we could have got away with it but the boys showed we can create with a two man CDMs as long as we put the effort in and it gives us a better chance of holding a lead.

Let’s be honest though - Villa were terrible and allowed us to play. I need to see it against more stern opponents - even Villa made it a bit panicky while both Partey ( poor header ) and pea were lucky to score but I’ll take the win but most important was the performance - COYG.

I don’t think villa were terrible we just outclassed them for 60 minutes. We deflated them and more or less bullied them. A brilliant performance, I’m a massive critic of arteta but credit when due.
