Hi ed001, hope your doing well. You should know by now that your my number one scout, so what's your overall opinion on the Ramsdale deal? He hasn't impressed me personally but he's only just turned 23 so still has so much time to be a top keeper, but I'm probably talking rubbish. What's your thoughts?

{Ed001's Note - well he is only 23, so he has got time to learn and improve, but his big problem is when he is asked to play out from the back. His confidence was destroyed at Bournemouth trying to do it and failing, it took him a while at Sheff Utd to recover it. He did that by staying on his line and not playing out from the back. I just don't see why Arsenal are signing him. It is not that he is a particularly bad keeper, he just doesn't suit Arsenal's way of playing. He gets lost off his line and is not comfortable.}

Trish, is ramsdale an improvement in Leno.

{Ed001's Note - not at playing out from the back, no. If they were both playing their game, then he is a much more athletic keeper than Leno, so more likely to stop those shots Leno seems to let in. So a step forward I would say. Plus with a much higher ceiling to improve. Oh and, hopefully, he will not be at odds with the keeper coach, which will make a lot of difference.}

I may be way off, but it looks to me that a Leno replacement is wanted due to his lack of ability to play out from the back. Sounds like Ramsdale may suffer in the same way, so a very odd signing for me. Granted I have hardly seen him play, so have nothing to base my perspective off.

I don't see why we play out from the back as we have no players that are quick on the turnfrom the back or midfield.

I’ve got a few mates that’s are blades season ticket holders and they rate him highly, some higher than henderson. Fingers crossed he will develop well, the fans get behind him and he will be our number one for years to come.

Out of interest Ed do you think leno is good at playing it out from the back? Personally think he reads the game so poorly and doesn't spot danger. If I have to watch xhaka run towards him shouting for the ball with two players behind him then leno passing him the ball for it to be lost two seconds later I might get my gloves out and put my name forward for number one.

{Ed001's Note - no I don't think he is very good at it. He hasn't got the intelligence for it. You are right about that kind of stupid pass, an intelligent player would see that if there are 2 on Xhaka, someone else must be in space.}
