Look the club have made huge mistakes

I still think the problem is the senior players

I'm willing to give Mikel next season to sort it out.

Mal - we could have appointed Ancelotti. 3 or 4 seasons ago, how far behind were they? We opted for Arteta. How have Everton faired over the same period and who plays more exciting football? How much have Everton spent and who has the better / more expensive squad. how can we say Arteta has the horsepower or experience to build a new Arsenal. He has a great defence and improved midfield over what Wenger had (no lecture on bringing him up please as it’s just a comparative) but a super attack. We always said Wenger needed a decent CDM and 3 CDs. Well Arteta has that. Why aren’t expectations higher. Why are you happy to give him more time. Don’t you think PEAs attitude needs to be managed by the boss and if you drop him for the most important game of the season - replace him properly. If we concede stupid goals by playing at the back - stop it. If you are screaming at Saka to get in behind Prague - why didn’t you play a speedy striker rather than Willian. I’m not attacking you but want to see why Arteta is worthy of a 3rd season.

Mikel was always going to have to rebuild a dire squad, I say give him next season

To each their own opinions and if your happy with Mikel then for you there is no problem Mark mate and you have every reason to look forward to next season.

For me personally I'm done with Arteta and if the club did decide to retain his services this summer then I won't be making my plans to fit in around Arsenal games next season.

If I'm not doing anything else then I will probably watch but certainly won't be turning down any invitations because they clash with Arsenal games that's for sure.

Football is supposed to be an exciting escapism, win lose or draw not a chore that leaves you feeling like you've just wasted 2 hours of your life you'll never get back again.

I’m torn between get rid of Arteta and be fair and give him a full proper season, my worry is it looks as though some players have given up on him and will we be even lower next season?

I'm happy to wait and see what happens in the transfer window.

Saying that, I'm not a big fan of coaching during the game. I don't mind the occasional instructions but I reckon it's pretty tough for the experienced players to keep getting instructions all through the game. I hope if Mikel stays this will be addressed.

Is Mikel too inflexible? He certainly plays by his own rules. He said recently (when talking about Bellerin) that you can be friendly as players but not as a manager. I think that was a telling statement. He certainly has no qualms about blocking players, perhaps this means that bridges can't be rebuilt. I think some players would take this sort of discipline as a personal insult and react accordingly.

It's definitely a roller coaster being a Gooner!

All good Mal. Family doing well and can’t wait for lockdown to relax. Missed not seeing my mum and dad due to restrictions but no different to everyone else. Get the feeling my old man is suffering from to much heading so I need to ensure I spend as much time with him over the next few years.

Current team and performances are driving the family mad but I’m a little bit like gunner62, I refuse to let the Gunners take up too much special family time because they are so bad to watch. I miss getting excited about games.

Think I understand your thoughts on Arteta - I’m sure you aren’t happy with him or the performances but can’t see a decent replacement coming in. I can’t believe a squad like we have performed as it does.

Your front 3 you suggested with our strongest defence and an addition to replace Granit and Bellerin would be a game changer for me

Hey SY mate, like Mark I'm really sorry to hear your dad is struggling mate, it's a tough one mate and totally puts everything into perspective.

As you say make the most of now, the future will bring what it's going to bring no matter what we think of it, but right now you've all got each other and reality that's all that counts.
