For all the fellow oldies and maybe the not so old posters too.
I discovered Now 70s on freeview chanel 78 yesterday.
Some real classic tunes and very simple but entertaining videos from back in the day :-)
It's brilliant getting lost in songs I've not heard for years :-)

Hey G62 I remember tie a yellow ribbon. classic. growing up in the 70,s i still remember some of the middle of the road music my parents listened to. like Perry Cuomo and Peters and Lee. the latter always had that great gag that when they split up Lee walked straight into another band and Peters walked straight into a lamppost.

The 70’s may be the decade that taste forgot but I believe it has given us some of the greatest popular music songs so far IMO:

Free - All right now
Boston - More than a Feeling
Faces - Anything ( But especially Bad n Ruin)
Paul McCartney - Maybe I’m amazed
Traffic - Dear Mr Fantasy

And probably my favourite song of all time

Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street

What a decade for music. could spend another few hours listing more songs.

That was a special final - at halftime and even with 5 minutes to go, we were cruising. name being etched on the cup then a late mad couple of minutes gets us and the cup engraver panicking only for Chippy to run down the left wing, nice pass to winger and a great finish appt the back post by Sir Alan Sunderland! What a day.

Hi Mark, I can't think of it mate boy I'm sure I will as soon as you name it, frustrating but honest ;-) ?
Hi Epping mate my Dad was a Jim Reeves Fan while my oldest sister was into the Beatles big time so I grew up listening to them as well as the new songs on the radio which seemed like it was always on in everyone's house during all daylight hours.
Chirpy Chirpy cheap cheap and Please release me by Engleburt were they late 60S or early 70s? Roger Whitiker the last farewell was definitely 70s I remember that, I think :-)

Cheers SY, in that case I can't remember it all :-) but they were good days when both fa cup finalists made records and the build up to the final was an entire week long with evey paper and news programme building up the atmosphere slowly but surely into fever pitch right up to abide with me. Simple but very happy days back then :-) .

When spring turns to summer
The first week in May
You know you will find us
Down Old Wembley Way
It's a popular place at this time of the year
'Coz everyone knows that the Gunners are here
And it's Super Gunners
Super Arsenal FC
We'll play the world over
And champions we'll be!

With the big man behind us we're safe at the back
When Sammy and Pat move up into attack
With David O'Leary and big Willy Young
Sending Rixy and Stapleton off on a run.

And it's Super Gunners
Super Arsenal FC
We'll play the world over
And champions we'll be!

We'll give of our best whether home or away
At the end of the day they'll have nothing to say
For when they're asked who's the man of the year
Our own Chippy Brady's the name that you'll hear.
And it's Super Gunners
Super Arsenal FC
We'll play the world over
And champions we'll be!
