I like Le Coq but is it more that he is exactly the right type of player for that position rather than the fact he is a really good player and that Wenger has finally realized we need a proper holding player. Gilberto was the same (Bert was probably better in my opinion) . i. e Good player that you don't have to spend loads on but it exactly the right type of player.

Hopefully Wenger will be able to find someone for a good amount of money to cover Le Coq and challenge in long run.

Have to disagree, when he first came into the team, I thought the same but now I firmly believe he has the talent and skill to be our long term option. His timing on his tackles is spot on, and his passing game and awareness is improving. Not that I wouldn't love to see us make a move for Carvalho or Bender, but I think C.

I think Coq does an amazing job.
Very disciplined, sits in front of back 4 and covers from left to right as opposed to going forward.

Probably a bigger miss than Sanchez.

As it is largely felt that Coquelin does an "amazing job" (I'm sure some disagree, not even certain I wholly feel this) then surely we wouldn't need a Carvlaho/Bender to compete? We would need to blood a youngster (and I do keep banging on about Bielik here) or wise, older head to stand in for him during his injuries.

Personally, I would not object to a pricey established player, such as Wanyama, but I can also see the benefit of the youngster/oldster.

For me, Wanyama, Griezeman, Augbayemang would represent a fine three buys.

I actually agree with all comments but I think he does a great job because he knows what the job is, unlike an Alex Song who started to think he was fabregas. My only downer on le coq is I think he is a red card waiting to happen.

Sloth unlike say Viera who used to terrify us with the early yellow in big games ;-) )

Coquelin has been excellent since his return from Charlton. However, our most successful days under Wenger were when we played a powerful duo of midfield players in front of the back four; Vieira and Petit - Vieira and Gilberto. I would like to see us sign Wanyama, who would work superbly alongside Cooquelin. Then in the summer window we should release Arteta and Flamini and bring a further defensive midfield player as cover.
