Morning eds, are we showing serious interest in Eze? Thanks in advance and hope you're all enjoying this lovely weather (unless you're in Australia lol)
{Ed001's Note - yes mate and it is the same weather it always is here...}

That’s great news Ed, do you think he’s the quality we should be aiming for? In your opinion
Also - are we looking at Ekitike? Shouldn’t we be getting a finished article rather than a build project. The team will be in constant build but never finished. Is Osimhen not even in the picture
The update on our attacking targets was a bit disappointing in terms of quality and Ed’s opinion of their quality. Esp as we’ve been very selective, not purchased in past 3 years to get the “right” striker….
Thanks Ed001 - appreciate info, time and opinion ?
Who would you like to see us sign.
{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of Eze, he is lazy imo. Ability is there but not the workrate.
I don't know of any Arsenal interest in Ekitike, his asking price was seen as too much. Osimhen's wage demands are putting people off.
Very welcome Sy.
I think I should answer who I think would improve you, rather than who I would like you to sign! Clearly the outstanding 2 strikers in Europe are Isak and Alvarez, but both are difficult. Isak is not going to push for a move from Newcastle, so I doubt he will be sold. Alvarez has a missus that publicly slagged off the UK on social media after leaving. Apparently she hated it while at City. So that makes him extremely unlikely too.
You really should have given a chance to Bierith or Balogun. I don't think either are, or are going to be, world class, but you just needed someone to put the finishing touches to moves and both are better at that than the players who replaced them. You could do a lot worse than Mateta to be honest. I think you need a ready made striker rather than another youngster such as Stassin.}

I totally agree with you Ed with regards to Isak and Alverez. I believe this is the type of quality Arteta really wants and knows we need. I believe if the conversation was Isak or Alverez, not Gykorez or Sesko, we'd have been pushing like we did for Rice as I think we have the money, it's just like you said, Isak and Alverez are very complicated and almost unrealistic targets.
Just a shame Villa were cheated a CL opportunity with a criminal decision which VAR turned a blind eye to, to aid Newcastle with that 5th CL spot almost instantly killing any chance with Isak.
{Ed077's Note - Emi doing Emi things cost them the spot. The same Villa who avoided relegation because of a "technological mishap"?

Ed001 - thank you and sorry for late reply. Exciting rumours flying around and we just need to get our business done. You are right in that keeping Bierith would have given us options last season and this as we still need a back up striker who knows where the net is which isn’t Kai, Jesus etc.
Interesting what you say about Eze. Arteta doesn’t like lazy player and would rather have a forward who tracks back than frightening up front. Does he do less than Ode? I would sacrifice a bit of defending for someone that has a first thought when they get the ball is “forward and fast. ” We have the best defence for a reason….
I want a finished article up front - selfish, fast and two good feet. if they get 30 goals and don’t do too much defending then I don’t mind. A bit of pressing the back 4 but save your energy for attacking please.
Thanks again.
{Ed001's Note - Eze does a fair bit less than Ode, but he isn't really expected to do anything at Palace other than get back into position when they lose the ball. They want him fresh to lead their counters. So he is pretty much what you like.}
