Well Arteta had the chance to sign a striker and here we are talking about another lost opportunity. One day we might get what we want. Newcastle are not a bad team but they should be whipping boys for us. Difference is they actually have forwards!

Interesting. Was anyone other than Watkins under serious consideration do you know? I understand the Sesko/ Isak links but neither were possible in January. Just curious if there were any other options discussed….

I seriously don't see how we can through the blame at arteta when he obviously doesn't have the final say. Also if we want to get our target we can't just spend crazy money on a striker just for the sake of it. Nonetheless, I think it might cost us for the final run as we have no strikers available.

I don’t think Arteta is to blame, but we also didn’t have to spend crazy money.
When you look at some of the loans that happened around Europe could we have done something? A little more forward planning from the summer - could we have brought in someone before the season started? We obviously needed someone.
Was there any point loaning Nelson out to loan in Sterling? Taking up a premier league loan space?
Just seems that not enough thought has gone into things, so not surprising we are hearing that Edu was pushed and didn’t jump.
