I’m saying that we have one left back. Yes Cedric played well yesterday but it was one match. He is not left footed. Against Southampton in the FA cup we needed a natural left back. Against Crystal Palace, maitland-niles played there, again we needed a natural left back. If you don’t think we need another left back then you and Ed need to wipe your eyes.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gabriel or Mari given a go there either. Both seem very capable and it's a shame to exclude them when both are fit. I enjoyed Cedric's performance though. Saka can also play there, but we lose our best attacker.

I do agree that we should have a natural LB as cover for Tierney, but it doesn't seem feasible to have 5 full backs (should we sign Amavi this window) for two competitions now. Would rather we sign him on a pre-contract to join in the summer, then look to shift AMN for a decent fee as I can't see him having a future here (I'd also sell Bellerin if the right offer was made and then go for Max Aarons)

Just out of interest Ed who do you believe is cover for Tierney? Assuming saka? As niles is going out on loan so imagine saka and cedric will be used as cover.

I think Cedric ahould be our first choice RB tbh. if that does happen and AMN gets a loan deal then yes, Saka would be our cover. Not great to have one of our best attackers as cover for LB, I know we needed players off the wage bill and perhaps Kolasniac was not happy not playing, but I always thought he did a solid job as cover if not setting the world on fire 🤷.
