What does everyone think of the pictures / rumours regarding Mourinho?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love serial trophy winner Mourinho at the club. With the squad we now have he would be a great choice to restore CL football and trophies to the club.
Although, as I have stated previously Emery improved us in his first season and should be given a chance until the end of the season to see how we progress with the three long term injured defenders and Lacazette back, as well as bedding in the new players.

What pictures are these mate?

Who's reporting these stories?
Oh look it's the Benzema and Higguian mystery medical media set again :-)

Tbf, iv only seen it on twitter, but he was pictured in executive section at the Emirates, aparently sat with Sanllehi.

Although i just think the guy was there to watch football, as he lives in London and i doubt he is welcome at the bridge.

I don't think he would be a bad till the end of the season replacement if the club were to sack Emery, however, I wouldn’t give him any longer than that, and doubt he would want any longer than that with how much money he likes to spend.
Anyhow, i just thought i would get peoples opinion on him.

And no G62 it wasn’t sky.

No its on the metro express and all other well known mischief makers and truth inventors 93 mate :-) 1% facts twisted into 0.0000000% truth :-)
No credible outlast is claiming it to be anything more than what it was which is why they are and remaind credible even though less rich than those who see truth as an inconvenience.

This rumour is likely to be utter bull. That said, JoMo is the last man on earth I would want in charge of Arsenal.

Personally I don't know what we are meant to do here. I like Rafa Benitez though - and he is available.

{Ed047's Note - after the mess he’s left behind in his previous two roles he’s clearly past his sell by date and plays outdated football.

Why would people want that here 🤷‍♂️

Any chance we could pry Brendan Rodgers away from Leicester City.

28 Oct 2019 08:33:18
We have a more than reasonable squad and a level headed reasonably good manager could quite easily to come in and turn things around very quickly and give us more than decent chance of top 4 finish.
We don't need Pep or Jurgen to turn this squad into champions league qualifiers we just need someone who knows what he's doing and is happy for the players to make headlines and be the stars of the show.
Titles? Then we would need a Jurgen or Pep type manager but we are not yet ready for that level of competitiveness only to begin the journey towards it again.

Why would Rodgers leave a better club to come to us.

29 Oct 2019 21:43:02
I think he would love the arsenal job! Would I want him? Probably not, like with United the style change would not appease fans, would he do a better job than emery I would say yes, . Mourinho has that attitude of a bloke who wants to shag someone else’s wife better.

31 Oct 2019 04:49:19
Would anyone else wantEddie Howe? He’s a manager who has a game plan, sticks to it, moves clubs the right way up the leagues/ tables.

{Ed047's Note - not anywhere near good enough for me.

The fact that Emery is in a weak position, esp. in the minds of fans, it's no surprise that every Tom Tick and Harry will be linked with us. Mourinho just happens to be a free agent at the moment which makes it an inevitability he will be highlighted. Don't be surprised to see Allegri and Rodgers, amongst others flagged up in the coming weeks, if fortunes do not change.

I usually would not expect Arsenal to get rid of Emery until the end of the season, it's not been the clubs DNA to do that unless corruption/ illegality is implied. Having said that, I would not be surprised if the genetic make up at the club has sufficiently changed to see a swifter exit. I can't see this happening if there is no obvious replacement.

Two years ago I would have baulked at the idea of Mourinho, but I fear I could be persuaded in the midst of the defensive and organisational chaos in the team.

Strange times.

I'm not sure about Eddie Howe, but we don't really know what he is capable of at a bigger club with better players. He can't be any worse than Emery surely; we gave him a job?

01 Nov 2019 02:17:30
Nothings going to happen to Emery anytime soon. I’d be keeping an eye on Enrique who was doing good with Spain before having to step away for personal reasons. He’s the type of manager who could at least get us back to playing football.

Mourinho - too big a risk. Expensive gamble.
Eddie Howe - not high profile enough

Pep and klopp people like. We need a manager the fans and the public can get behind.

03 Nov 2019 13:59:43
What about Rafa? Premier league experience, can organise a defense and has won trophies.

04 Nov 2019 12:50:53
Ed, what’s your opinion on the whole manager front with Arsenal. If this form doesn’t improve soon, how long would you expect Emery to remain, and do you think with what you know, if sacked, do you think they’d look for a profile or maybe stick with Freddie?

{Ed002's Note - The problem is largely with the structure of the club and in the big scheme of things the improvements that one might expect with the change of a coach will be constrained by that. Hence the problem getting a Technical Director and ending up with Edu, who was way down the list, this past summer.}
