Morning ed002

Good call on zaha btw

Ed can you tell us what's happening with midfield players. i know you did a list of targets, but has there been any development

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It will be something like this:

James Maddison (CM/AM) is emerging as a summer target for Arsenal (due largely to preferred choices not being available) but Leicester will resist selling him this summer unless a ridiculous offer is made and a move to Arsenal is very unlikely - I would strike him off the list
Adrien Rabiot (CM/AM) - Emery wants him but wages will be very high and interest from elsewhere will likely win out. Obviously Rabiot is in a position now where he can negotiate a summer deal (let's assume that to be a signing on fee, a wage/bonus package, agent and third party fees) with any club outside of the remit of the FFF. This includes Arsenal and a number of other sides. Don't hold your breath - it won't happen.
Kai Havertz (CM/AM) option to Rabiot but won't happen as his future is largely mapped out with a move happening in 2020. I would forget him completely.
Joe Aribo (CM) was of interest - but is he ready to step up? Charlton offered him the best deal possible but opted to move to Scotland with Rangers.
Nicolo Barella (CM) Napoli and Chelsea failed with approaches in January - and he wants to be a starter and stay in Italy - so very difficult. Don't hold your breath as it won't happen.
Pablo Fornals (CM/AM) opted to move elsewhere
Ever Banega (CM) - Emery again likes the player but the club are not so keen, but if the preferred choices are not available he may need to be considered again
Dennis Praet (CM) there has been a fishing trip to look at Praet - it makes little sense to me but he is available. However, the situation is very much complicated by another side who want to take him and Andersen in a package deal and are offering a player plus cash to bring the cost down - so if Arsenal want to do something it will have to be soon.
Joan Jordan (CM) Signed for Sevilla but was watched been watched by Arsenal, Valencia and West Ham.
Christopher Nkunku (LM/AM) wanted by Emery and PSG may be open to a sale, but there is a dependency in Paris that could change that and serious interest from elsewhere
David Brooks (AM) Arsenal has watched him and may make an offer if Oezil were to be moved on - but I suspect the asking price would kill any chance of a move
Julian Draxler (AM) expect player to be offered to the club but wants to stay in Paris and is again expensive - I would strike him from the list
Alexis Claude-Maurice (AM/F) youngster from Lorient who has progressed well this season and attracted the attention of West Ham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Norwich, Sion, Leeds and Lens, and probably others. Others see him as too expensive.}

Thanks Ed, your information is congruent with the reports that we are having trouble with our primary, and in some cases, secondary targets.

Is it realistic to think that Arsenal want to announce a couple of signings before we head off to America in a couple weeks?

{Ed002's Note - Clubs don't normally by players so they can make announcements before they travel. Traditionally clubs look to buy the players they want instead.}

Thanks Ed - great list of players we won’t sign 😂😂😂 is there a list of possible signings?
Is the window open and if do - do Arsenal know?

{Ed002's Note - These are the midfield players I am aware that there has been interest in. There will be a number of second tier French players still available as well.}

Thanks for the updates ed002. Interesting about Fornals opting for West Ham, especially if other offers were on the table, but can't blame him for wanting to start. Pellegrini is a good manager too. Sounds like a good fantasy league pick.

{Ed002's Note - West Ham is a good project to sell - Arsenal isn't.}

Are you saying West ham look more appealing to players than arsenal ed?

{Ed002's Note - Righ now, yes.}

Right now we look like a club that's completely lost its way and out of ideas on how to find its way back!
That can't be a very exciting prospect for potential new players to want to be part of.
West Ham Wolves and Watford have a buzz about them and what might be possible where finishing in a Europa league position would be met with celebration while at Arsenal the europa league is failure, it's not difficult to understand why players would want to dodge the Club currently.
