Morning all

This won't be a popular post at all, so my hard hat is at the ready.

For me Haaland needs to get injured for us to win the league, even before the weekend I thought we just don't have a killer instinct up front.

Gyokeres scored for fun before arriving here, now of course it's a different ball game.

Not helped by the way we are playing, by that I mean it's not to suit VG.

No doubt we have the strongest squad but doesn't mean we will win the league.

As for the weekend, not easy going away to Sunderland for sure BUT it's a fixture I'd expect us to win, in saying that a good recovery in the 2nd half but a lack of concentration at the death.

We have a 4 point cushion and with Spuds, Munich and Chelsea away we will see where we are at, personally I think 2 draws and a win from the 3 games but let's see.

Morning Banbury, lots of good points in your post, especially regarding Haarland. I really think he could get City over the line single handedly if he stays fit!

10 Nov 2025 10:20:38
Totally agree with you Banbury. The fact that city are hot on our heels will kick in the psychological aspect and we’ll have to see how the team deals with it. The league these days demands so much consistency that we need to win all the matches and not loose to our title rivals. Whether we can do that over the course of the whole season this time is a question mark again.

We have a good squad but injuries aren’t helping, against Sunderland we had a depleted bench. Hopefully, all injured players are back after the break and we push on hard and achieve our goals (no pun! )

10 Nov 2025 10:49:45
At this point I think I'd rather be 2nd and chasing than 1st looking over our shoulders at Haarland bombing towards our defence lol.

10 Nov 2025 11:16:54
Mal! Sally's been drinking again!

10 Nov 2025 13:02:12
😃 😀 😄 😁 🤣 😂.

10 Nov 2025 17:54:00
Bit of negativity on here over 1 draw against a very tough organised very good Sunderland side. If any of the main title contenders had already gone up there and rinsed them I would be a bit worried.

Pretty confident that the other challengers will also drop points. City parking the bus after scoring early, then conceding very late against us, what was that for City, point won or 2 points lost.

10 Nov 2025 18:37:18
Haaland is the most prolific goal scorer the Premier league has ever seen and who wouldn't want someone like that in their team, but even with Haaland in unbelievable form city are 4 pts hind us.

Saturdays result wasn't perfect but City even with Haaland have clearly experienced more imperfect result than us, or they wouldn't be 4pts behind us.

Will Haaland maintain his devastating form throughout the season, who knows, how will City cope if Haaland hits a bad patch? Who knows.
What we do know for sure is that The Arsenal are out performing all competitors so far this season despite having several players out, in my opinion all other clubs have more to worry about than we do., yet somehow we seem to find problems for ourselves to worry about 🤔🤔🤔.

10 Nov 2025 22:15:33
Hi 62, Bill,
I admire your posts but we don’t have to be always philosophical, we can be critical of performances as well. We are in far better position as a club and team than we were 4 years ago but this position will demand more and any shortcomings will have to be analysed. We crumbled under pressure in the last three years so the point is that the team must be matured enough now to deal with it. Man City play before us after the break and if they win the gap is 1 point, under this pressure we must win in the NLD else doubts will start creeping in everybody’s mind including the players.

And something isn’t right with the amount of injuries we are seeing, we have a strong squad but they need to be available throughout the season, however, I am pretty confident we will achieve something by taking the next step this year!

10 Nov 2025 22:38:37
Hi Highbury.

So we have to be worried, fearful and critical if we want everything to turn out as we hope it will rather than how we fear it might if we don't worry find fault and enjoy what really is at this moment in time

That makes a lot of sense mate 👍

🤔🤔🤔🤔.

SHARPIE I think Sally would prefer the name

Chardonnay.

11 Nov 2025 10:43:15
Perhaps that's my real name Mal 😆 🤣 😂.

11 Nov 2025 12:42:19
The performance needs to be looked at we were not there in the first half. The draw summed the game up and was well deserved for sunderland. We need that spark from the moment go that we had a few seasons ago score that goal seal the game and then sit back. For me personally bringing on a defensive sub while there was all to play for showed signs of lack of confidence, the team does need a kick up the back side. But hey ho still very early and a long time to go.

I was expecting SY to be on here straight after the game addressing all faults so was dissappointed not seeing anything hope he is well.

11 Nov 2025 14:09:03
Don't matter what you're name is sally

Your 1 of the gang.

11 Nov 2025 19:03:05
Hi G4 mate, it doesn't sound like you know mate but SY is currently coming to terms with a very sad time regarding the loss of his dad.

11 Nov 2025 20:45:30
We'll start calling you ChardyB. Can you sing?

12 Nov 2025 10:16:46
I have been known to Sharpe. 🎶 🎵 lol.

13 Nov 2025 17:50:28
Thanks for letting me know, G62 i was not aware. If you are reading this SY4 sorry to hear of your father.

09 Nov 2025 17:17:55
Hey you all,
I know many would think its a good point but for me we wasted 2 points. It was a very rough game and the ref was awful. And we shouldn't have conceded the second goal, we gave them do much time and space.
But what really bothers me, why everyone in the world is.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Nov 2025 18:29:20
I completely agree; we didn't win a point, we dropped 2. I understand taking our foot off their necks had we been 2 goals in front, but a single goal lead is so easy to throw away.

Credit where credit is due, Sunderland gave an excellent account of themselves. They played a blinder and never gave up.

09 Nov 2025 22:49:37
Absolutely mate, and I think with all rauas great effort he rushed too quick and badly jumped of his line.
But why everyone is hating us and are so happy for us dropping points. I mean some people are celebrating our draw is just too funny.

We must accept it as good point, Sunderland have been doing very well for a promoted side and will cause problems to many teams. I just thought we were not 100% at it today, the goals we conceded today were very unlike us this season and we didn’t control the game in the additional time.

We were good after taking the lead but then took the eyes off in the additional time. Still top of the league at the international break so onwards and upwards, COYG!

08 Nov 2025 20:28:44
Hello Gabi mate, hope everything is OK.
Tough place to go, wasn't at our best first half but got ourselves in front, disappointed to concede that late, but all things considered it was hard earned point. 2 weeks break, hopefully some of the injured will be back or close to
Take care mate.

08 Nov 2025 21:28:20
Let's face it we were never going to win all our remaining games this season or go the rest of the season without conceding a goal.

A really decent point but as always 3pts would have been better than having to settle for just the 1pt. We've had worse days Rodney 👍👍👍.

08 Nov 2025 21:35:19
We got spanked as soon as we decided to take our foot off the gas and play defensively instead. Inviting pressure is always a lottery. A single goal lead is hardly a lead and we should have been trying to put the game to bed.

Disappointed with that result if I'm being honest.

08 Nov 2025 22:06:57
Evening chaps hope alls good. got to take the ruff with the smooth. not our best performance. gutted to concede late goal… we didn’t lose, picked up a point which could be crucial come the end of the season just as much as the two points dropped could be. but who knows.? . the thing is it’s a marathon not a sprint. we have a host of players to come back into the fold real soon…I genuinely believe once said players are back fit and firing we will see some hidings being handed out…we are top of the league… we won’t win every game this season, there will be ups and downs.

just think we should all stay level headed. but we will definitely be in with a shout of some silverware. just wanted to say i'm grateful that it really feels like we’ve got our arsenal back. COYG/VTH 🔴⚪️❤️.

08 Nov 2025 22:33:05
I have no idea why we let the last ten minutes be so open, i expected us to kill the game and hide in the corner. Dropping two points so late is massively disappointing.
However, we'll still be top tomorrow by at least 4 points, so I think there's a sliver of hope.

08 Nov 2025 23:57:10
And its that tiny sliver of hope we must hold on to SW 😊😊😊😊.

08 Nov 2025 19:45:15
10 games without a goal against us and 2 come at once. Never rains but it pours 🌂 🌂.

As MLS has been omitted from the England squad, reportedly because of lack of regular game time, should Arteta send him out on loan or is he too valuable for us to do this?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2025 11:47:06
Keep him 100% in my opinion Sally.

He could easily play in more than 20 games for us this season between now and Tuchel picking his final squad.

09 Nov 2025 12:43:02
Worth remembering the lad is still just a kid! Last season was an aberration given injuries to our other LBs. He'll get plenty of minutes between now and May.

Thanks for this Ed001. Good read.

I'm actually very confused by Newcastle this season. Especially when you consider how they performed yesterday. They're extremely up and down this season and I can't see them finishing in European places this time around. Is this just Howe getting things wrong or is there something else at play with them?

About Gyokeres, I was one of those that wanted him in more than any other striker. Now that he's been with us a few games, I'm wondering if he'll ever click because we seem to be refusing to play to his strengths. Hope things start clicking for him because I'd really like to see him do well.

Thanks for getting back on these. Hope the oldies got home safe.

{Ed001's Note - I think that they are trying to be too conservative in the Prem, to save everything for Europe. They barely even try in the Prem.

I think Gyokeres is doing enough though, you just need a goalscorer there to ensure the defences have to double up on him and that frees someone somewhere else, even when he is not scoring. If he doesn't score for a while, they will stop doing that and then I am sure he will score.

Yeah, they got home safe and immediately Liverpool's form lifted! Pair of bloody Jonahs.}

06 Nov 2025 10:47:28
Can you ask them to come back because you miss them?

{Ed001's Note - the lads on the Liverpool site are having a whip round to send them on a cruise for the rest of the season so they can't visit again!}

06 Nov 2025 16:32:18
Agree a good read. Couple of points Bournemouth aren`t too bad up front scoring one less goal than us ( just not so good at keeping them out) which is hardly surprising. League is nowhere near a formality, we are well in it but City and Pool have a real chance too. I think Sharpie we agreed on having perhaps Allison and Ekitike from the Pool team.

Yet Gyokeres has almost an identical record to Ekitike. He`s doing fine and I think with his workrate/ style of play it is no surprise our wingers are thriving - Saka and Martinelli speak highly of him. He`s one of ours not a lemon and I feel will be fine. He`s helped us to top of the league too COYG.

07 Nov 2025 15:19:39
Yes Gyokeres doing just fine for thank you he is no lemon to us maybe to other teams fans maybe because they have him n tehir and making them cry.

Thanks for the comprehensive writeup ed001, always enjoy these. Your point on Newcastle constantly fouling as their main strategy is exactly what I was thinking as well.
There is being physical/ aggressive and then there is setting out to manhandle and kick players out of the game. Burn for example somehow managed to escape a card when grabbing Bowen with both arms across the chest to stop a fast break. I don't understand how refs have just let it slide week after week when it is such a systematic ploy.

Also, a question on Liverpool - what is the approach Slot has tried that isn't working this season? I see Pool fans constantly asking for a diamond midfield but that seems like a whole new (unproven) tactical shift as well compared to just sticking with a winning team.

{Ed001's Note - Newcastle drive me mad, they have ability but are so focused on s**trousers they often forget to play.

The approach has been a really slow build up when on the ball and off the ball he dropped the press to instead play with a low intensity. Everything was slow and measured. Liverpool are at their best when they play quickly and press high. The other big issue has been the midfield just empties when in possession, with the entire midfield up along the forwards in a line. No idea what the thinking is, but it leaves a huge gap for the opposition to exploit when attacking and gives the defence no protection.}

What an absolute twat o'hara is. Just read he thinks van de ven and romero better than saliba and big gabs.
He was s*** at football and even worse as a pundit. And he gets a wage for this bulls***.

Hello Ramsgate mate, hope you are good.
Ohara is a Richard Cranium of the highest order
100% bellend.

As far as I'm concerned, keep those stupid opinions coming! People underrating the Arsenal is good for us, less pressure and more desire to prove themselves.

07 Nov 2025 09:12:28
Oh Ramsgate mate, I couldn't agree with you more.
O'Hara is a major tw** and is a one eyed Spud. Couldn't make it as a footballer and can't make it as pundit.
