{Ed001's Note - to be honest, they were before my time and I have never seen them, but my uncle's girlfriend for years as a kid was called Debbie. As you can imagine she got teased something rotten. I grew up in the era of satellite TV and waiting up until the German channels had stuff on late at night.}

At this stage I think it's easier to just have Debbie change her name by deed poll.
