The league is already done so not sure why that result would put a downer on anything. It's clear that Arteta is now putting all his eggs in the CL basket. What takes the cake is your own fans wishing you'd lose just so they can say "I told you so".
It's only half time and your team are only 1 goal down. Score an early one in Paris and who knows what might happen next. I can't fathom how a Liverpool fan has more belief that your team can pull through the second leg than some of the posters on here.

Hi Dracred mate, I think we have to accept that if we don't win the champions league rightly or wrongly Arteta has to go.
If we are not top of the table from beginning to end next season those fans who want Arteta out more than they want Arsenal to be successful will continue to try and turn other fans against the manager and the team, and we as a club and fan base we would be back to our bitterly divided worst as we were in the final years of Arsenes reign.
The atmosphere in the stadium and attitude on the pitch have been the best they've been in a generation the last few years and it would be sad to see that lost, will letting Arteta go make us champions or turn us into serial sackers like Man United Chelsea and Spurs? Let's hope we do win the champions league and never get to find out ??.

Hi Sw I thought the same a little while ago but I genuinely think the potential for next season to quickly become a neg fest if things don't go well from start to finish is so great that unless we win the champions league this season it's probably for the greater good of all that Mikel walks away with his head held high having transformed us from also rans into contenders and the Emirates from the library into a wall of sound.
For personally these things alone make him a huge success for us but seldom do mangers ever regain the support of the masses once it's gone.

your not Chelsea so he will probably stay. from a personal point of view, he's taken you as far as he can go in the league. your not done in the CL yet, so all to play for.
