I'm still buzzing from Wednesday and no one can take that away.
{Ed014's Note - it was such a great game, so many great performances from everyone.
Arteta has moulded them into a great group of team mates who constantly fight for each other.
With Partey out of the first leg and Jorginho injured, I’m wondering if he’ll give Ben a run at DM, he did well there for Leeds.
Ipswich would be a great time to try it out.
19 Apr 2025 17:01:14
I thank Timber played DM at Ajax on occasions too, so it gives Mikel a little flexibility on who plays RB and DM between Timber and White ?.
19 Apr 2025 17:06:51
Evening Ed great call on Benny
We just don’t know how lucky we are to have arteta and josh kroenke
We are finally back to doing things the Arsenal way.
{Ed014's Note - we are truly mate and if the new guy is as good as they say then hopefully the summer window will be a belter.
With Fury back he could move MLS into the middle but I think Benny playing there would be much less disruptive.
19 Apr 2025 17:28:32
I’m just waiting for Sy4 to come on and put a downer on this thread.
{Ed014's Note - fingers crossed not and I hadn’t realised Timber played there for Ajax, good shout by 62, so we defo have options.
19 Apr 2025 17:56:36
Hi Ed014 how are you?
I had to Google it to be honest mate, I was just considering our realistic options and fortunately for us we have 2 very reasonable ones available to us in Timber and White ?.
{Ed014's Note - all good thanks mate, and you?
Haha well I defo didn’t know but I’m pretty certain either one would step in and do a job, I think my preference would be Benny in the middle as he’s another big lad, good on the ball and pretty swift.
19 Apr 2025 18:23:11
Yes all good here too thanks Ed014 mate, I'll be very happy with either as I know they will give us 100% of what they have to give in the role ?
I'm hoping we get all 3 points tomorrow as although I totally accept The champions league is of course our absolute top priority I'd still really like us to clinch our 3rd consecutive top 2 finish if possible. Given all our injuries top 2 in England and top 1 or 2 in Europe would be an absolutely awesome season.
{Ed025's Note - every team has injuries G62, its how good or strong your squad is to cope with them mate, dont get me wrong top 2 is fine but if proper money had been spent on quality players it could have been top 1 imo..

Hi Ed025 mate, you could be right but what if we'd bought a top striker and he'd got injured in his first game as Timber did last season or he struggled adapt to the Premier league or his new team as so many expensive players have done in thepast?
Personally I'm way to happy enjoying the reality what actually is in the here and now to worry about what might or might not have been had things been done differently.
I've never let the sight of the bloke sitting in the posh restaurants window being served a 4 course slap meal put me off from enjoying the kebab with lots of onions and extra chilli sauce I actually have in my hand ????.
{Ed014's Note - I’m with you mate, we’re not City and can’t compile some huge squad with like for like replacements.
We’ve built the squad really well, aside from a striker, who like you say we could have lost for the season at anytime.
Liverpool have no more depth than us and certainly not better players, but Salah has stayed fit and had a stellar season, where would they be without him.
Injuries and crazy sendings off at the start of the season, when refs were playing by the letter for those first few fixtures, before as usual the goal posts widened.
The quality of player we had injured and the subsequent impact defo made a big difference.
But Liverpool made the most, won when they had to, often playing poorly, but it’s points that count, not how you got them.

{Ed014's Note - mate we are not City and haven’t had the ability to build a like for like squad, but I think we’re building a very good one within what we can spend, sure we’ve bought some duds, but who hasn’t.
Fingers crossed we get the striker this summer and we don’t lose him on match day one.
I don’t think Liverpool have much in the way of squad depth but have had Salah in stellar form, where would they be without him.
I’d personally only have one player from their squad, the keeper, couldn’t have Salah replacing our man Saka.
Injuries and crazy sendings off at the beginning of the season, when refs started off playing it by the book, before in a matter of weeks the goal posts changed around what or wasn’t a booking, without doubt affected us more than others, but that’s life.
Liverpool won when they needed to, often when playing poorly, but it’s not how you got the points, but simply the points you got.
We’re back though mate and will be fighting on all fronts for the foreseeable.

Hi Ed014, we are back in the big time mate and I'm loving it ?
Not only do we no longer get thrashed against the big boys anymore we've actually served up a couple of thrashing to none other than the kings of champions league football Real Madrid and the most prolific Premier league champions in the modern era Man City this season, we've got a champions league semi final to look forward to and of course we on on track to second in the Premier league once again, not to shabby for what is according to some a poorly run club with a clueless manger ?. If only we'd had it this rough for all of the last 20 years ???.
{Ed014's Note - spot on mate, if only! ?
19 Apr 2025 21:12:41
Well said john mate.
20 Apr 2025 19:04:02
I think I said it a few months ago, maybe the difference between Liverpool and Arsenal is the mentality. Reinforced by the fans who seem incapable of looking past your excuses. Liverpool had more injuries last year than Arsenal have had this year. have you heard the constant whine from our fans as this being the reason we haven't won the league? I feel there is an arrogance from Arsenal that is more suited to Manchester. Liverpool had some ridiculous red cards last year, spurs phantom offside, odegard great goalkeeping etc. we will all cry over subjective decisions. Arsenal have had resources Liverpool can only freak of, Slot hasn't had years to build his team like Arteat bemoaned of Klopp. Give some credit where its due guys, your sounding like the mancs.
20 Apr 2025 20:01:38
Wtf are you going on about shirwanks
Get a grip boi.
20 Apr 2025 21:21:02
I haven't seen anyone discredit Liverpool on this page, the only mention I've really seen about Liverpool is how brilliant Salah has been and that the tile race would have been much closer if you'd lost Salah as we lost Saka or both had stayed fit.
Bill and Dracred come on this page and are a credit to Liverpool football club and for all 3 of them I'm really pleased Liverpool be champions this season given the fact we will not be.
As for yourself if you really are a Liverpool fan and not simply a trol, you do Liverpool and the name of the late great Bill Shankley a huge deservice.
20 Apr 2025 23:32:18
I read a lot of the different pages. If you don't wish to acknowledge that you've referenced injuries and referee decisions as an excuse then so be it. But Gunner you mention Sake being injured as a reason for not being closer vs Salah. I mentioned in a previous post that he was injured after being in the Afcon last year, but we never used that as an excuse or compared it to Haaland and saying we would have been closer to them if he had been injured. This was my initial point which you seem unable to accept because it doesn't support the narrative about injuries being responsible for you not winning the league. If you haven't seen this narrative on this page then I suggest that your the troll with selective reading capability. As for doing a disservice to the great man, if you understood who he was, you'd understand that he was an honest man who spoke the truth, I'd say I've represented him quite well. Shall we count how many more times injuries are referenced as a reason for your seasons achievements? As my maths isn't strong enough to count how many have so far. Like I said last post, a bit of credit where its due would show the class I usually associate with your club. Rather than the crass mispronouciations of one of your posters, you don't have to agree with my opinion, it is just that, but at least own what you have printed.
21 Apr 2025 07:48:46
Nice of you to come here and list all of the excuses that you're 'not using'.
{Ed014's Note - the simple fact is that ourselves and city have not performed which has allowed Liverpool to take advantage.
5 early season sendings off and injuries have impacted us, as much as they want to believe different.
You can’t argue that they’ve won the necessary points even though not being hugely attractive in doing it, but as I said points make prizes.
They had been a distant 3rd and I think 5th in the last two seasons and have played pretty much the same football as in those seasons, Salah, as I said having a stellar season, has made that difference.
They don’t want to believe that, personally I truly couldn’t give a toss. But if you’re going to spout honesty, then have a bit of it.
I know where we are as a club and believe that’s in a hugely better place than has been the case for a long time.
Maybe sirshanks should read some of the stuff written on his own page and then see who is becoming the new arrogant Manchester United. It’s pitiful stuff, I know, I’ve been posting it up! ?♂️
21 Apr 2025 11:03:13
Arsenal have been getting and awful lot of positive attention from an awful lot of people over the last couple of weeks since our two amazing performances and wins v Real Madrid, everyone is talking about Arsenal right now. While run away premier league leaders Liverpool have been a bit an after thought for most people during the last fortnight
I wonder if this is what is really getting to and really upsetting this poster ?.
{Ed014's Note - unless they have another melt down they should lift their 20th soon and then they can maybe visit the United page and rather, tell them how great they are, than bore us with it all! ?
Read their page mate, they’re desperate for us to lose and PSG to win the whole thing, so maybe they can say they only lost out to the eventual winners! ?♂️
But for that and a couple of other games, they would have won the quadruple again. ?
21 Apr 2025 11:33:14
Hi Ed014 mate, life's to short to waste our time on those bitter people who have a sackful of chips on each shoulder which they think makes them well balanced people ?
Liverpool fans like Bill and Dracred are the one's who are worthy our time and attention, and for Bill, Dracred and Ed001 I'm really pleased Liverpool are having a fantastic season mate. If not us I'm pleased it's Liverpool who get be champions despite the bitters among their supporters.
{Ed014's Note - could agree more mate! ?
21 Apr 2025 18:00:03
Enjoyed the chat, but not one of those chats have articulated a valid or reasoned argument against my opinion, and I accept its just that. Personal slurs aren't something that will bother me or are necessary, but it's the world we live in.
I have a lot of time for Arsenal, they are my favourites for the league next year as they probably need the least amount of remedial work.
I thought it quite ironic that Ed suggested our winning hasn't been exciting, and I tend to agree. But I think Slot has got the balance right better than Arteta. He has really impressed me with his tactical ability.
Although Arteta has created a team that can go to Madrid and completely negate them, that is something we could not do. PSG demonstrated that when they completed dominated us at their place. This base is why despite our title, I have more confidence in Arsenal going into next year. We have got away playing without a high level left back or striker this season, it's a lot to ask VVD and Salah to perform to these levels as they approach the twilight of their careers.
I'll leave you in peace to converse amongst yourselves now!
{Ed014's Note - I think I gave you my opinion in opposition to yours fella.
Not sure what I hadn’t made clear.
21 Apr 2025 20:17:59
Yet it was you who chose to come on the Arsenal page criticising our comments to each other and accusing of being arrogant.
Maybe if you'd tried having a more respectful and friendly engagement in the first place you would have received a more respectful reception?
He who chooses to live by the slur should surely expect to?
