This is why we were so desperate to get back into Europe's ultimate competition. Every player wants to play against and evey fan wants to watch their team play the toughest opponents in the toughest competitions.
Getting excited about playing against relatively unheard of clubs in the Europa league takes a bit of effort but being excited about playing against Real Madrid in a champions league quarter final takes no effort at all.
Early bath and scalp wash for me tonight before sitting very firmly on the couch waiting for the game to start ?.

For the record - I lived it, was buzzing and didn’t doubt we would go through after the home win as Arteta has us defending better than Wenger 2.0 and had dark arts in his arsenal. Think his discipline, slightly defensive nature / risk averse fave me confidence. That’s a big statement
The away leg gave me the bigger buzz as that was job done not half time. Got some rubbishs about that ?
Buzzing at work - actually stayed late to shrink the gap waiting for kick off. Amazing game.

Smiling like a dog with two sticks. Two amazing results. Huge games against PSG now. Frustrating we can beat Real but struggle to get wi s in epl. Seem to play with more intent and forward momentum against Real. We need to figure how to convert that to wins in EPL.
Super standard of games - Saka, Saliba and Rice were simply outstanding. Joy to watch and Rice who really reminded me of a Henry or Adams type of leader Vs the ones we see of late. Rice was immense - forget his goals but more the energy and KMs he coveted.
Arteta really got the better of a very experienced coach and team although Real don’t look like a team and played into our hands. None the less - we were awesome.
You will laugh but I still have doubts about him picking up an EPL trophy but hoping this is the game that catapults him forward and gives the club the belief we are as good as we believe and we must start looking to win trophies and be brave.
Let’s not rush that 6 year contract as PSG is the bigger test and EPL.
I don’t want someone that can’t get us over the line or overlook our weaknesses for another 6 years. 6 years of 2nd and no trophy does nothing for me and shouldn’t do it for the board. I’d drop to 3rd if it got us a few trophies more frequently. I do acknowledge our progress but progress is only good if there’s an end product.
