Ed033 can we have another one please

Sharpie in or out

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - no need for a poll, the answer is he should defo keep it in his pants, the last thing the world needs is more Sharpies!!}

Luckily for me, I handle the very limited rejection that comes my way very well, unlike "some people".

We need to spend big - striker, midfield, attacker and some cover.

That will leave very little room for error and a new manager.

Arteta has spent a fortune on - Kai, Calafiori, Jesus, Zin, Kiwior, Viera, Lokonga, Jorginho, Merino, Trossard.

Cleared out plenty attacking players but not replaced with quality

Do I want us to risk another 150m on him?
Can he manage the type of player who wins leagues Vs creates harmony
Can he play to win and be ruthless
Can he adapt and change tactics in game.

I don’t want him out because I like the guy BUT I just don’t think he has it and it’s a bigger risk to gamble on him if I want to win the league. I would like a better number two a not let his set piece dude have such an impact. But if we spend 150m on him - I’m concerned his replacement Ina season won’t have the money and Arteta could have addressed striker issue, got himself a number two. So, I’m going to be quite tough on my vote but put act of thought into it as voting OUT is a huge statement and I really like him but he’s just not got that killer instinct in my opinion. Sorry Boss.

Hi Ed033, quick question, mate. Why don't poll results stay shown once I've voted? Right now, if I wanted to go back and check the results, I need to vote again. Kinda skews the data, no?

P.S. : It would also prevent SY from voting "No" multiple times. (Just kidding, SY) .

{Ed033's Note - Because the Poll page was setup before usernames were added to the sites. If i add some code, it could check if a username had previously voted and just display the results. It would prevent the username SY from voting multiple times, but it wouldn't prevent someone from logging out as SY and voting multiple times as a 'Guest' username if they really wanted to vote multiple times.

I haven't seen evidence of mass 'Gaming' of the polls on our other sites when i have looked before.

11 Mar 2025 13:42:37
Aside from the deliberate gaming, I still have to vote multiple times to see the results of votes though. Maybe display results without the requirement to vote could be an option?

{Ed033's Note - Right.

11 Mar 2025 17:49:53
For me i voted yesterday and can see 97 other people have voted and it's currently 54 votes for in, 43 for out and absolute none for shake it all about. Oh and I don't have the option to vote again so for me personally it's working perfectly ???.

11 Mar 2025 18:15:09
Agreed John nothing wrong with the process.

11 Mar 2025 18:26:37
There’s two polls - I voted on both but only once. Are you sure you didn’t vote 54 times Gunner?

11 Mar 2025 18:34:38
Did Gallas vote out?

“It’s unacceptable for Arsenal to be making the same mistakes year-after-year with the same manager. ”
“I don’t want to hear the excuses, I don’t want to hear about injuries. There are no excuses that are good enough when you’ve got a winning mentality.
"I don’t think he has it because Arsenal should have won at least one, maybe two titles and they couldn’t get it over the line. ”
"Arteta played the game, he knows that injuries can happen at any time, he knows that he can lose key players, that's why you need to have a big squad. If you want to win, you don't win the league with only 11 players. "
"That’s why Arsenal have finished second for two seasons running, and it will be an unwelcome hat-trick this season.
"Every season, you always want to bring in one or two players. You need to add strength to what you have, and you need to keep players sharp, that’s what competition does to a squad. Arsenal should have signed a big striker in the summer of 2023, but they didn’t.

They should have signed one in the summer of 2024, but they didn’t. Top managers don’t make that same mistake two seasons running. That is completely unacceptable. "

Gunner - this ties into your saying of doing the same thing again….

You can’t really argue with this regardless if you li, e or dislike Gallas - at least someone has the ? ? to say it and hope the owners are listening.

11 Mar 2025 19:11:32
Not with you on this one Sy. If Gallas says something, I'm definitely a contrarian. He's an absolute ?? without the ⚽⚽ you mentioned. All I remember of him is sat on the pitch crying his little eyes out. That was the only effort he ever put in for us.

11 Mar 2025 19:13:55
Hi Sy more than happy to talk about the poll with you mate. And no I only voted the once and if I could have voted more I wouldn't have because I'm genuinely interested in how the majority of fans feel about Arteta in or out!

As for your second post! Did you copy and paste it from last season and the season before that ???? I flitted through it quickly and thought I'd slipped into a time warp but then noticed you'd addressed something to me directly!

Mate when it comes Arsenal and Arteta your millions of witnesses for the prosecution, it's all pretty much recycled chip paper that you've recycled soooo many times before, Dave TV would be envious of your stamina and dedication to repeats ????.

11 Mar 2025 20:00:24
lol - that poll is interesting as I had to think twice before I clicked out. He’s split the fan base which isn’t good.

Gallas is a bit of a nob and it’s a recent post as you can tell by the quote. It does make sense - how can you say having a striker and bottling it hadn’t cost us a title? Not addressing the issue wouldn’t happen with a top ambitious manger either. Whether could have won who knows but not doing raises lots of questions.

He’s under pressure and questions are being raised which is good - something must change think even you must agree there

Sharpie - I’d say he’s not a great player BUT he’s played under good managers and won medals plus played at the highest level. Surely that means his opinion is half decent. Which piece didn’t make sense. Probably a bit harsh on injuries but our mentality is an issue and we should have a trophy in the cabinet.

11 Mar 2025 18:55:25
On my phone I see the results and don't need to vote again. But on PC, I can't see the results and do need to vote again if I want to see them.

{Ed033's Note - you voted with your phone?

11 Mar 2025 21:14:32
Good question Ed033, I can't actually remember. I could try voting again on PC and see if it sticks.

11 Mar 2025 21:25:03
Looks like I may have done the initial vote on my phone. Looks like sessions aren't synced across devices.

{Ed033's Note - Correct.

11 Mar 2025 21:57:17
How may votes you done Sharpie and what side.

11 Mar 2025 22:00:37
Sy, winning medals and playing under good managers doesn't necessarily give him the acumen needed to be a critic.

I've heard some utter bollox escape the mouth of Neville as a pundit, and that bloke has won plenty and played under the leagues most decorated manager.

11 Mar 2025 22:23:55
I voted twice. Once was to test. In hindsight, I should have voted the opposite of my initial vote to even things out - but I didn't. Now I feel like I've cheated.

I voted in, for a few reasons. I like the camaraderie he's brought to the team. I can't see any better options available. I'd like to see what he can achieve with the pieces (striker for one) he needs in place.

11 Mar 2025 23:27:01
True Sharpie but still a successful epl player and you would think they can make more informed opinions based on their experience. Neville generally makes sense but does get himself caught in awkward situations at times.

Arteta has brought some positives to the club and is a nice guy. What’s he got to do next year to stay?

We can’t pay him 8m per year to never win but be nice.

12 Mar 2025 06:39:20
Sy, do you really need to have had a successful EPL career to see that we need a striker? "Some" of us armchair pundits have been on about it for a while now. He isn't conveying anything new, or insightful.

With regards to what Arteta has to do to stay - for me, it's keep us closely competitive, which he has done the last couple of seasons. He's definitely not managed that this season. People will talk about injuries and lack of depth, but that's why he, and everyone employed at board level, get paid the big bucks.

13 Mar 2025 12:13:34
After initially being pretty much 50/ 50 Arteta in is now 60% and out 40% which to me suggests that although regular readers and posters are split those Arsenal fans who use the site less frequently are much more positive about Arteta and our future under his management.
