I thought the 9 games in January would make us or break us and even though we had some blips in the month and injuries, we have come out of it still in with a decent shout of 2 major trophies.
Ben White is close to returning and there is a chance we might see Saka after the next international break.
This reminds me of the 90/ 91 season.
Fined by the league for not controlling our players/ talisman player out for long period and we still pulled it off.

Hi Bill mate, I think Ben White has been a much bigger miss than many people realise, I know he's not particularly popular with some fans where as Tinber is but I think we are a better team with White at right back.

100% agree on ben white. Really don't understand why he's not very popular, he is literally (in my mind) a 7/ 10 most games at the least. When they are both fit, white and saka have an unbelievable understanding, and I think that's why odegaard is more effective on that side of pitch as well. All 3 just seem to dovetail brilliantly. It's kind of like back in the day when we had Cashley, pires and henry all playing off that left hand side.

Hi Ramsgate mate, yes the 3 of them do blend really well together and I think we've really missed having that asset this season.
I think we paid 50 million for White if I remember right and an awful lot of fans felt the money should have been spent elsewhere on different player or players and many of those fans simply haven't ever forgiven Ben White for Edu or Arteta decision.

He was purchased as a CB and didn’t cut it there. He’s switched and you are right does well with Saka. I like Timber though. I would rather have purchased a proper RB. At the top level I just don’t think he plays like a RB and gets exposed by a top LW. Doesn’t mean he’s not doing a good job and a great partner with Saka. I’d love a RB that can overlap on the outside and offer more going forward and be smarter when defending as a RB. He still looks like a CB playing as a RB. However, it fits with Arteta’s defensive mindset. In that set up you probably can’t get much better than him. Complete opposite to Tierney who I liked doesn’t fit into Arteta’s rigid defensive set up. But I’d say he’s more like a typical mindset.
So I guess - he’s not the RB I would like, feel we over paid but for our set up, he’s good. 6 / 10 each game but rarely a 8 but can be a 4.
I don’t like the fact he doesn’t watch a lot of football - I don’t understand why he wouldn’t watch good players to improve. I get it that it’s high pressure but come on son - you are playing at the highest level in UK. I’ve competed at a very high level and watched as much as I could to improve and it was intense.
Do you think City or Liverpool would pay 50m for him to play RB? Just out of interest.
If we have to play the defensive set up but it frees up Saka - I’m good with him but would like a RB like A Cole ( know he’s a LB) rather than B White. They just don’t compare.
