Havertz doesn’t do it for me a striker is the difference between 1st and second, we need a striker that can finish he misses to many chances.

Jeez I hope we just buy a striker as it definitely means we`ll win the league! But what happens, as could easily happen, we buy a striker and City win the league then what? I'm with stephen. I do like kai up front. We weren't heaps and away from a title. It's small margins. Being the romantic that I am I think we're going to do it this season. Third time's the charm. COYG.

Aye that old chestnut, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
This can be spun about any player, even players we've signed.
Bottom line is, Kai isn't a striker, and there are some of us who feel this team would be better equipped to deliver if we had a striker. No one is saying a striker will absolutely deliver us the league.
And the reason people try to fix things that aren't broken is so they can make it better. We'd still be plodding about in horse and cart if we didn't.

My issue now is does Arteta want one, responding to the question about strikers, he’s said he loves the ones he has.
Ivan Toney gets left out of the Brentford squad, because of interest, Arteta has spoken to him but apparently not keen.
If we buy a striker, what role does Havertz play, not in midfield with Rice and Odegaard, not really on the wings, does he just play cup games etc. How’s that going to look.
Ollie Watkins is very unlikely to leave Villa.
How much money do we have, probably somewhere around £90 gone on Raya, Calafiori and Merino if he comes with just ESR moved on to recoup around £30 million.
Viktor Gyokeres has a release clause of something like £86 million although his club are allegedly willing to accept a fair chunk less than that.

Chill out Sussex I’m only saying I think we need a forward that can guarantee 20plus prem goals a season! Kai scored 14 goals in all competition's for me that’s not a top forward, if you look at last seasons top four maybe 6 they all have a forward that bangs them in, why don’t we get one, and i personally think we will win the title, if we don’t buy a forward and still win the title i'm sure you’ll be the first to mock me, even tho we support the same team! Thanks all that’s me done back to lurking for me.

Why is this striker question about Havertz? He had a good season so has proven to be a viable false nine option. The reason we need a striker is because when teams like Bayern set up to nullify a false nine we need to try something different.
Surely the real question is can Jesus or Nketiah provide that different option? For me Jesus doesn't provide a different enough option and Nketiah hasn't been able to impact games consistently enough to be relied upon.
Havertz can play in so many positions and setups he'll get plenty of minutes even if we ended up signing a striker. Just surround him with ball-players and he'll be just fine combining with them and creating space for them.

Havertz doesn't actually miss that many more chances than other forwards.
He only got 13 league goals last year, but he played half of that in midfield and only 13 players scored more than him.
But he got 13 from 69 shots so a goal every 5.3 shots
Haaland got a goal every 4.4 shots
Palmer 1 every 4.9
Watkins 1 every 5.6
Solanke 1 every 5.7
Salah 1 every 6.3
Saka 1 every 6.7
Nunez 1 every 9.8
Isak was the most clinical at 1 every 3.7 shots
Osimhen was 1 every 6
Gyokerez might be the man, he was getting a goal every 3.8 shots, but Nunez was getting a goal every 3.1 shots in Portugal, last year he got 1 in 9.8, there's no guarantee he will be able to carry over the form to the PL.
No one bar Haaland, Kane or Salah really guarantees 20 PL goals a season.

The pesky 20 PL goals a season striker is very elusive!
Hopefully if Havertz is given a full season up front he might get close, I don't think there's many players guaranteed to be better, especially for the prices they will cost.
Like iceman says a good plan B to mix it up would probably be ideal, maybe Toney in his last year, might be available for reasonable price.
But we seem to have lost interest and he might be going to Saudi.
I'd vouch for a right winger more, so Saka can get a bloody rest every now and then!
