If Saliba is as good as I hear, why isn’t he in England putting the Arsenal shirt on?

I see Simeone is interested in him.

Watched him against PSG on the wkend there and he was superb. Great defender from what I’ve seen he’s miles ahead of Ben White in my opinion. Shame he'll probably never play for us because he’s going to be a world beater.

So is it a personality clash with Arteta?

{Ed014's Note - that’s what has been muted right from the very outset, guess we’ll find out one day but if it’s true Arteta needs to build a bridge and let Saliba come back over it.

I am sure that I read an interview with Saliba where he made a remark around this but almost blamed himself, let's not forget he was brought as a 17-year-old by another manager for big money.

it was something like: I came to arsenal after my transfer and expected to start in the first team and was only wondering who my partner was going to be, then I found myself in the under 23's and I couldn't understand it"

I think he struggled with the fact that he wasn't the first choice straight away (which 17-year-old defender ever has been? ) and also I watched him in 2 reserve games and he was awful and got sent off in one. I'm not saying he is awful I am just saying that perhaps this shock to him at the start, he did not do himself justice under arteta at bigining and arteta didn't fancy him right from the off.

I am sure that arteta can be difficult and even, "my way or the highway kind of manager", be let's not also forget that this has worked with some of the players at Arsenal and he is getting a tune out of a lot of them, that way is not always going to work with every player, equally neither is allowing bad attitude and players doing what they want, which in my opinion is what was wrong at arsenal the last few years under Wenger and also under emery. Arteta seems to at least be trying to install some pride and respect in the players that put on an arsenal shirt and I really do think we should all be 100% behind him in that.

I'm also sure arteta has said that he wants Saliba back and there is a future for him at the club, the facts are that arsenal brought a promising 17-year-old center-back and he has been loaned out to continue his development in a slightly weaker league for 2 years, this is not unusual at all, and only in the limelight due to the player making unprofessional noises in my opinion.
