Can someone explain, but shortly before joining us, did Emery bang his head and forget he was a football manager for a couple of seasons? Watching Spanish football this season and Villarreal have been brilliant, and now they have just beaten Bayern Munich over two legs and are in the CL semi-final. This is a club that represents a town that has the same population as Clacton-on-sea! Always felt sorry for him when he was with us, but he really did look devoid of all ideas at the end, but really pleased to see him doing so well.

Like players, some managers just suit certain leagues. Emery did nothing outside of Spain.

Yeah, obviously Spain really suits his style, although I suppose you could say he has just had success in Germany as well!

Emery is a quality manager,3 Europa leagues tells you something. First manager after Wenger would not have been a good time for any manager. Still managed to get us to a Europa league final despite having some players pulling his way.
I am genuinely pleased for him because he came across as a genuine really nice bloke.

I'm not sure they were xenophobic. I mean, if they were, they'd hate almost the whole team.
He definitely seemed like a genuinely nice bloke. And he also seemed genuinely out of his depth at Arsenal.

If I remember right is Auba hadn't miss the penalty at the end of the NLD we would have had Champions league in that season.
