Ok - so this is a dangerous statement.
In my opinion I believe the political taking of the knee by every club every game in a political statement and that's it. I'd rather they actually did something rather than a shallow knee while racism is going on all around them.
Then I read this and praise the club for the stand it takes is removing assets from the business as their behaviour was inappropriate. That's positive action 👠👠ðŸ‘
Well done
A club statement read: "Portsmouth Football Club can confirm that the investigation - and subsequent disciplinary process - into discriminatory messages that originated from an academy U18 private group chat has now concluded.
"We can confirm that a decision has been made today (July 28) to release three players from the academy. These players do have the right to appeal the club's decision.
Stamp this out of our game by action and show how important it is to you even if it's not the Immediate best thing for the club
Revs - do the same with diving, cheating, swearing. straight red. They won't give you grief. How I hated seeing John Terry berating refs, shouting aggressively from a foot away all to win a throw in. Don't moan - act.
Well done Portsmouth.
Come on refs - you have the power and I don't care if you send off Laca for diving if you do it for all. I'd love my honest tough competitive game back where a player doesn't get booked for celebrating after scoring a historic goal for your country in the last minute of extra time. I'd book him for keeping his shirt on. Football has so much so wrong.
I'm on a rant today - sorry.

Why is it political, I don't understand that statement.
If the players feel it's important to them to show thier support for the issues that lead to the taking of the knee in the first place why is that a problem?

It just feels part of the protocol like managers shaking hands. It’s done and doesn’t change how players act during the game. Feel Colin Kaepernick had a bigger statement or Portsmouth actions spoke far louder than a “forced†kneeling.
Do it after a goal. Walk off the pitch if racism happens.
I’m an action guy and this just feel like a tick box hence I was highlighting Portsmouth.

Personally mate I think the Euros showed how much of a gesture it was, some people who booed the England team before the torment for taking a knee finally got the message after what followed Saka Rashford and Sancho missing their penalties.

That’s a good point and if this tick box leads to awareness and affirmative action and most important - results then great.
Are they going to take the knee all this season and next?
I’d argue it actually took the abuse to get action snd awareness - the knee was irrelevant. The knee achieved nothing - the social I acceptance of racial abuse and that it was 100% targeted at 3 young men of colour was key. Players we had applauded for skill, delivery on and off the pitch were targeted not because of terrible penalties which except Rashfords, they were but rather targeting their race. We know Pearce, Waddle, Southgate, Batty etc were given a lot of stock for their misses but not due to race.

Personally I think the England players sticking to thier beliefs when it would have been so much easier just to conform and given in to those who opposed their actions was a huge success, I thought it was brilliant when the Danish team applauded England players before the semi final and even fantastic when the Italian players joined the England players in taking a knee before the final itself, I wonder how many other players of other countries wished they to had shown support during the tournament once the final whistle went and the vile abuse of 3 young players began and still continues to happen.
Will they be taking a knee all next season?
Do you think they're will be more keyboard abuses, more people disrespected and abused for no reason other than the colour of thier skin both on line and in person?
Do you think everyone will evolve the ability to question themselves and ask why do I think, feel behave this way? Rather than simply continue to be conditioned by others words and propaganda before next season kicks off?
Sadly I think we might be a few seasons away before everyone develops the ability to think rationally and calmly more importantly actually think for themselves rather than how they've been taught to think by others.

Sorry that should have read ( even more fantastic when the Italian players joined the England players in taking a knee before the final itself) Not simply even fantastic.
Amazing what what missing out or adding a single word can do to a sentence, whoops sorry.
