RIP Frank Worthington. He played his best football before my time, but he seems one of those players you would pay to watch. I certainly remember seeing him take the best kick off to a match I have ever seen. I think he was playing for Leicester, and the ball was played back to him and he flicked it up before hoofing the ball skywards, way above the camera, and probably way above the stands. The ball fell just outside the other teams area, rugby style, just out of reach for the keeper, and putting the centre half under massive pressure, as most of the Leicester players were now up and challenging for the ball. Talk about putting the opposition under pressure from the off, they must have hated it, absolutely brilliant.

Bless him, what a brilliant player he was and that goal he scored with tee ups with his back to goal, wow l Bergkampesk before even Denis Bergkamp knew what that meant.
Great character and wonderful footballer who was adored and admire by every fan in the country.

Class on grass was a phrase that fiited Frank Worthington perfectly located, just like his tailor made white suit.

Always sad to see the passing of people who've had such a positive effect on so many people's lives life.

That goal was pretty amazing. Not just the foresight but his composure and finish was a delight. The Working man's George Best! Another young player with Dementia -thoughts with family.
