What a relevation Laca has been! Do you think he is playing for a new contract/ new club or genuinely getting better service from our midfielders. He seems so solid at the moment.

Agree3 Disagree0

Or revelation even!

Who knows his motivation Sally but the service has definitely improved but unfortunately as Fanatic points out below solving the attacking problem has lead to problems at her back.

I think he keeps rotating the back 4 because he's deciding who to let go in the summer Gunner. I suppose it's the only way to see who fits in with his plans.

Simple - let Luiz go. Surely that’s easy and you don’t need trial and error. If he can’t see that, he shouldn’t be in charge. Gabriel is a beast, Holding and Mari look pretty good. Left back is a no brainier. Why chop and change?

{Ed014's Note - really want to see what Saliba can do too

I'm not sure what his thinking is Sally but ultimately it's a result business and some point surely Mikel has to be held accountable for what his Arsenal do or don't achieve.

There are obviously lots of different opinions on Artetas abilty as a manager as there were Arsene and Emerys too and those opinions understandably fluctuate depending on results and performances.

But the one thing that seems to be pretty consistent under Mikel is 1.45 points per game.

Last season we averaged 1.45 points per game and finished on 54 points and this season we are averaging that very same 1.45 points per game average and spookily 100% bang on target to achieve that very same 54 points total as last season as we stand.

If both Arsene and Emerys 1.65 points per game average was deemed as not meeting the required standard and worthy of receiving thier p45 how long can/ should Mikel be allowed experiment as he wishes and achieve 1.45 for ?

Well nobody can accuse us of not being consistent if they are the stats Gunner ;) bad but consistent. Do you think only Luiz should be let go?

Personally I'd let Hector go Sally and I'm a big fan of his but he needs a new challenge for many fans he's always going to be a target for for criticism.

I'd let Laca go to despite him doing well at the moment overall his Arsenal career has been like a yo yo and that's not the standard we need and a new contract is the type of risky commitment that has bitten us so many times in the past.

I'd let Nelson AMN Wilock go to because they just aren't even close to Tierney Saka ERS Martinelli standard and the standard required to challenge for big prizes.

It's important to point out at this stage that these are just my personal opinions and in no way factuall and other opinions are available 😀.

Ed014 - agree and do t forget about Mavro. Love to see him return to our defence.

{Ed014's Note - definitely SY, like them both and feel we didn’t make the most of Saliba when he was with us.

Looked great in a couple of pre season games and then nothing. Both he and Mavropanos are supposedly doing really well on the respective loans.

Interesting thoughts on Laca. He seems to be in a good run of form when his contract is coming into the final year, whereas Auba has a new contract and seems really sad and lacking in motivation. They used to be so good together. Bit like Sanchez and Ozil playing together.

Lacca puts in a shift Sally and is a team player but goal scoring is hit and miss, his shot yesterday was heading wide before being spectacularly deflected into the net.
He's a trier and if you could add Auba's finishing to Lanca effort you'd have some striker, but we can't pick and choose the best bits of different people we have to accept everyone as who they are and make a decision based on that not what we want then to be because we like them.

Agree with G62 in the players who should be shipped out. The only change I would make is by trying to offload PEA first and only if not possible then would let Lacca go. I think the movement we are getting through ESR, Saka Odegaard etc suits Laccas game, and he suits them. PEAs always better running onto goal, but it’s something we just don’t set up. The other player who would be on my ship out list is Xhaka. Yes he has played better recently, but he is still too slow and holds on to the ball far too long. Personally I would love Ward-Prowse in that role. Passes the ball as well as Xhaka but is also much more dynamic in getting the ball forward, and works like a Trojan. It’s also definitely time for Bellerin to move on, with a thanks for your time, and all the very best from the fans. Not quite happened for him, but he is a good player and will do well elsewhere.
