I saw something online yesterday and someone said they wonder if arteta is holding martenelli back for a while whilst they concentrate on turning him into a cf instead of a winger
Winder if there's truth in it? Would explain the disappearance of nketiah and I have seen a lot of training pics of martenelli practicing headers and looking more central.
Could be that he just doesn't want to play him but thought I'd post for people's views.

How will not playing at all help him become all we hope he will be and looks very capable of becoming.
It doesn't make sense to me D, just sounds like someone wishful thinking by someone somewhere trying to come up with a positive reason to explain why Martinelli is not being used to me mate.

Yep probably wishful thinking lol. I guess you wouldn't play him there until he's ready. Personally hope we do convert him to a cf if possible as prefer saka on the left wing.

I'd like to see that to D mate but sitting on the bench is more likely to see him leave rather than lead our line at some point.
Play the lad he's definitely good enough.

It might be that he just isn't ready. Ligament injuries often take a full year to rehabilitate and it's just hitting a year now. A couple months ago he injured himself in the pre-match warm up so I can only imagine that the club are being extra careful.

He has said himself that he his a striker and he try to learn off Auba in training.
