Idiocy. Mismanagement. Can't wait to see Balogun move to City for 80M from Leipzig.
Gnabry
Donyell Malen
Reine-Adelaide
Bennacer
Szczesny
and now Balogun. Absurd. 72M on Pepe. Absurd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? You can’t force a kid to stay if he needs to start games, who would you drop Alex to give him promised game time? PEA? Lacca? Martinelli?
The kid thinks a lot of him self and believes he should start unfortunately that’s not how it works, he could make it or may end up on the long list of players that left arsenal and flopped
That list is a lot longer than yours and right up the top is star player alexis Sanchez.

13 Jan 2021 17:22:49
The question is `Is he better than Nketiah? ` as he certainly doesn`t dislodge PEA Laca or Martinelli . Arteta sees them in training and if he was that good he would be selling/ loaning Eddie i`m sure. Not sure he will dislodge Leipzig front men who seem to be doing okay as they are second in Bundesliga and may sit on the bench in Germany. Good luck to him and if he is worth 80m then fine but he surely isn`t showing that potential every day in training not even that far ahead of Eddie who I`m not convinced by ( and he`s scored bucketloads for England u21`S ) . Would you start him v Palace and keep him there for rest of season? Think others would be off instead and who could blame them COYG.

I’m someone who has watched the guys career since he was 8 years old and I can 100% say he’s a gem and we will regret it if we lose him. Honestly, no bias, he’s much better than N’Ketiah, and he ALWAYS has the drive to improve.

13 Jan 2021 18:26:06
Why is Szczesny on that list lol.

13 Jan 2021 18:27:15
Dags I’m better than Eddie.

13 Jan 2021 18:28:41
I agree with Dags. And on form in Novmber or December, maybe he does dislodge.

Look, the problem is really this: summer of 2017, we sign Lacazette for £47m. January 2018, we sign Aubameyang for £57m. We don't have a holding midfielder, and our defence is rubbish. We don't look around and see that our academy is full of attacking talent, but has no spine. We sign two older strikers. It's pure mismanagement. It's not looking at Gnabry and then signing Pepe for £72m. £72m! On those valuations, our boy Serge is worth £200m.
Sell Szczesny for €12, sign Leno for £25m. Was that an improvement? Without looking or thinking we had Martinez in the pipeline. Is all a$$ backwards.

Now, without PEA last season, who knows what would have happened, but Lacazette disappeared for a year. I'm rambling, but yeah, you take stock last summer, you sell Laca or you at least sign Balogun and loan him for a season to Sheffield or whomever else, promising him that he's back at the club starting next season.

There is no direction.

Alex unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world, these kids should be grounded enough to realise which side their bread is buttered but unfortunately their representation only see’s dollar signs and they are encouraged to become impatient. If you were MA and you had 2 kids in the same position one wanting to play before he was ready and the other happy to wait for his chance, the first holding you to ransom unless you play him, what would you do? I would concentrate on the one which is patient and 100% commited in this case Nketieh
As for the list of mistakes above the only one I see as a major cock up is Pepe, but in all fairness he looked the real deal over in France, like I said before I would have preferred zaha at the time but palace wanted full payment whereas I believe Pepe was on pay monthly terms lol
We all screamed for a winger, we all screamed for CB. s and we all screamed for a world class CM we got them all eventually and now things are looking up if we can get them all fit together, plus a crop of real promising youngsters now emerging
Sometimes I wonder what clubs have to do to keep fans happy
COYG.

Ultimately it doesn`t matter if he is better than Nketiah if Arsenal don`t think so or he won`t sign! Either way good luck to him and DG if you`re right Arsenal have made the wrong choice. Be interesting to see COYG Also ED002 has Balogun pre signed yet I`m hearing conflicting reports Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if he has signed a new deal of not but I do know that as a free agent in the summer his "agent" has been offering him around.}

13 Jan 2021 20:11:35
I agree that on paper the club has made some stupid dumb ass decisions - people leaving for free, stupid signings we don’t need at ridiculous valuations while ignoring positions we need or better alternatives. even Emery criticises our bloody transfer business.

Is regards to Balogun - you seriously saying that with 15 clubs interested that we don’t want to keep him. We seriously can’t play him more regular in EL, U. K. Cup competitions and 20 minute cameos in league BS!

Eddie isn’t good enough but he gets game time - weird decisions made all over the place by Arteta and Club that I’d question their judgement more. doom and gloom.
You’re a spud SY4. Horserubbish. I want the best for our club and hold high standards for us hence I think going into this season without a Ozil, with mustafi, without a back up keeper was just crap from the Boss along with some of his selections.

Letting this young man go without putting up a fight 6 months ago is again a poorly run club and we will never get decent transfer values or compete while we are a shambles off and on the pitch. Far happier on the pitch of late but still size 15 question marks over Edu, board and Arteta while we make such stupid decisions.

If we put up with this crap we don’t improve.

13 Jan 2021 20:18:46
Thanks as always Ed002 COYG.

13 Jan 2021 20:48:20
What are you not getting? If the kid is refusing to sign a new contract WHY WOULD YOU PLAY HIM let him go!
I can only guess those of you not getting do not run your own businesses?
EXAMPLE
I employ delivery drivers on a very good daily rate, I have one driver who is always early, always polite, always asking and offering to do weekends and when he finishes his deliveries early he calls me and asks do I have any more
I have another one, who is late starting most days then moans when he finishes late, rushes around, and has no concern for his colleagues
BOTH of them get the job done and the second one is more experienced and physically stronger
I now only need one of them, which one do I keep?

13 Jan 2021 21:23:49
337 - you have a young experienced apprentice who you believe in. Do you take him on jobs and show him the ropes etc or leave him on his own?

13 Jan 2021 22:51:02
SY you wouldn’t send him out instead of a fully qualified person and leave the qualified guy making tea would you!
Exactly my point 😂😂😂😜
The apprentice would have to be patient and learn from the guys above him
Thank god you’re not running my business you’d have a kid with a provisional licence driving my trucks PMSL.

13 Jan 2021 23:19:04
The point is that Eddie is not good enough, I don't see him becoming a world beater, where as for balogun he's also young but really not tested on a high level but we saw that he's much stronger than Eddie and had a better technique in the box. But if he doesn't want to wait for his aportunity or fight for his place for that age than what can we do.

13 Jan 2021 23:29:21
Correct but needs to be involved, appreciated and be part of team.

14 Jan 2021 00:05:03
I agree Moe, my question is we’ve given Willock etc time in FA Cup, EL, preseason, league cup as well as limited EapL cameos. Why not this guy. We need to figure that out to keep talent or sell at a good price.

14 Jan 2021 00:30:26
Whether the young american stays or goes, Sy's right: as a club we need to do better at retaining and selling players.

14 Jan 2021 11:40:34
I actually give up, the kids hardly kicked a ball and you want a club our size to bow to his agents demands, play him instead of seasoned pros and give him an extortionate new contract?
There’s a huge list of kids that were hyped up to be “ the next best thing” that no longer play professional football

WE ARE STILL A BIG CLUB we do not need to bow to agents/ players demands, if the kid goes he goes if he stays he stays. Remember the coaches see these players every day and we don’t.
