Interesting times - we are performing poorly and coming to a window and maybe a crossroads in our history
Do we spend more on players?
Do we change manager?
Repeating what we are doing doesn't make sense - players not earning the jersey, playing people out of position and same style. that's madness and i'm sure Gunner will come up with a quote on that.
Don't believe wasting money is the solution and Jan isn't a great window
Don't believe we can change managers
So that leaves - youth or trying new tactics. I think he's lost the dressing room.
So my vote is try youth and make people earn their spots.
Tierney, Gabriel, Saliba, AMN, ESR, Partey, Elneny, Nelson, Martinelli etc etc
Only sensible option to me and I'd happily finish 10th as long as we perform and have a plan.

Throwing money isn't the answer.
Is our squad the 5th worst in the league?
Do 15 other clubs really have better players than us?
If the answer is no to both of the above then obviously more players isn't the answer.
Surely the real question is if we have a squad that is among the best 6 best squads in the premier league why are we 15th in the table.
City Chelsea Liverpool United possibly Spurs have better players than we have but apart from those 5 clubs we have a vastly stronger squad than any other club.
The difference is other managers are getting much much more out of their players than Mikel is ours.

They are performing better undoubtedly Banbury mate, but would any of us swap entire squads with West Ham Wolves or Vila?
We'd obviously trade attitude and mentality but abilities?
Auba is undoubtedly a top 7 club player but he's performing at bottom 3 level.

I know stats can skew a view but I remember a great manager saying we are in the entertainment game. If we don’t entertain, people go elsewhere on a Saturday afternoon. May be it’s best we can only allow a few thousand fans in because that doesn’t make great reading and sure as hell isn’t entertainment. boo boo boo no encore. get off the stage. look out for the shepherd’s hook Mikel.

In the main most fans want trophies and big expensive signings in my experience.
Give fans the choice of
Fabio de Braziliano for £100 million or Brian Smith on free transfer? Fabio shirts would fly off the racks despite no one having ever heard of him
And given the choice of
90 minutes of excillerating football week in week out but finish runners up
OR
89 minutes of dull negative football every game but finish with a maximum 114 points after 38 1 0 wins in 38 games
Ultimate invincibles memorabilia would sell like hot cakes by the millions.
People seem to equate cost with quality success with happiness despite that it's so often proven to not work out that way.

You could add Rocky, Dixon, Winterburn, Davies, Anelka, Mersin although I remember us signing Wrighty and watching his debut at Leicester City in the Rumbelows or Milk cup. So excited about signing him. Him and Bergkamp.
