So a little sneaky by our great club.

I thought Gunnersaurus returned after the club saw sense and were embarrassed. But no they stooped even lower by pretending he was back.

"My Dad loyally served Arsenal in the much-loved role of Gunnersaurus, his alter ego, for 27 years (voluntarily for the first 14!) , helping to create a character mascot that is hugely recognised across the world of football and beyond.

"In response to the C.V., Arsenal FC decided they would include the role of Gunnersaurus as part of their cost-cutting redundancy exercise, owing to the lack of matchdays and community opportunities. "

" Understandably so, as it wasn't a full-time role any more, but Gunner wasn't about to become extinct! Just simply lose his familiar heart and soul.

"Unfortunately, Arsenal were unable to find a suitable way to include my Dad in their 'new normal' part-time plans, or even offer him the chance to hand over his legacy. Perhaps they see him as an extinct dinosaur after all!

"To 'act with class' is an Arsenal value that I remember well from my time working at the club, and my Dad certainly honoured that. However, I don't feel this was reciprocated in how his journey ended. "

Embarrassing behsviour from our once great club.

Good manners politeness and decency are not required to stay within the laws of the land or footballing authority laws, so the current Arsenal regime see no reason to exercise them.
If you want to know how people will treat you in the future? Look at the way they treat others now and have treated others in the past.
You only have to look at Mike Ashley, given the way he's treated people in the past few people would expect a change of character from him in the future.

Sy4 you do like coming on here slagging off the club as soon as the opportunity arises.

What makes SY different to most posters Mark is he refuses to accept what the club has become and how it goes about doing things these days.
SY gets angry while most posters have just become a little less interested in and less connected to this Arsenal. A big part of being an Arsenal fan for me was the way the way the club went about its business and what it stood for and that has been in decline since we left Highbury and is right now at an all time low.

Thanks guys - hope you are both well. rubbish weather and no EPL.

I actually don’t like moaning - I’m just sorry about where we have fallen to.

I love the club and being a fan.

I’m a winner and a bad loser but also liked the way we did things. I have high high expectations and I like to enjoy my football as well as being proud of my club.

I feel we’ve lost our way a little - both on and off the pitch. It’s sad to see the decline. I can remember going to Highbury and watching the halftime band, players turning up in suits and the marble hall. Wenger brought a lot of pride back - his love of the club, the style of play, how we conducted ourselves (except getting rid of suits due to Nike) , how we changed the game from scouting to diets.

We can’t get back to that with low standards - we’ve got a very good squad and a great fan base. But we won’t get there if we lower our standards. In my book you raise your game to high standards not accept poor performances and lower expectations to avoid disappointment.

Sorry if I appear negative - I’m highlighting some of the things that are wrong with the club and as you hopefully know I want to be challenged and see things differently. I feel me and a number of fans had rose tinted glasses in th3 last years of Wenger’s reign. That’s on me and the rest of the fan base who should have asked questions earlier but so should have the board. My issues have been behind the scenes as I blame them for not having high enough standards, this resulted in a declining Wenger and an exit that he didn’t deserve. Higher standards could have resolved things sooner and potentially very differently.

Your passionate SY mate and that is nothing to apologise for at all.
I have to admit my passion has diminished over the last few years, Arsene Just dragged on far far to long, Emery unfortunately wasn't the answer and there are now huge question marks over Mikel, and by far the worst of all is those running the club now behave like a Mike Ashley tribute act.
I must admit I'm not the Arsenal fanatic I once was.
