Just an appreciation post for Mo Elneny 👏🏻

Regardless of whether he plays 5 minutes or 95 he always puts in 110%. Hopefully he can continue to improve because he's a player that we all wrote off a few seasons ago. Fingers crossed he keeps learning and keeps up the hard work because it's paying off!

Mikel has always continuously said that the door is open for everyone if you show the willingness to learn. Mo is a perfect example of that 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Absolutely Glen Elneny will do everything you ask him to do to the best of his abilty, always has.

I never understood why neither Arsene or Emery would never try him in the DM position even when all others were failing there.

I think some of it Gunner was that he's almost to eager and too eratic with the ball but he seems to have calmed down slightly. He used go on these weird and wonderful runs in to the middle of nowhere and then it pushed others out of position.
He's definitely learning though and if he keeps up the performances like that then fair play to him.
I still feel like the back 5 is limiting our options going forward though. Eleney and Partey were solid so why not have a back 4 and let Dani sit in the hole in front of TP and Mo 🤷🏻‍♂️ everything comes down the left or right atm and I hate watching us go side to side for 90 mins. You can predict 95% of our passes which isn't really ideal.

I absolutely agree Glen Elneny did have a tendency to run around like an over eager school kid when he first arrived, he used to get way to over excited and desperate to impress.
But during a preseason friendly in Australia Arsene played him in the sweeper role and he stuck to his task for 90 minutes despite not having much to do at the back. It was watching him in the meaningless friendly that I first noticed he was very capable of being disciplined, calming down and following instructions to the letter when asked to do so and I thought he could be worth a try in the DM position.
