How are we all feeling about tonight's game then?

I'm quietly confident that we can certainly take something from the game but there's part of me that's expecting a reality check tonight. 3-1, 4-1 something like that maybe.

I really hope that we show how far we have come with our defensive organisation whilst creating some chances at the other end. As long as we put in a solid performance then I can't grumble over the outcome.

COYG!

{Ed047's Note - I’m going with a solid performance where we don’t have our arse handed to us on a plate kind of thought process 🤞

I hope so Ed! I honestly do feel that we have it in us to take something from the game, even all 3 points! However, it's way too early to not feel like we're going to screw up every time Liverpool come forward. 1 point would brilliant but 3 would be exceptional.

{Ed047's Note - I cant deny it, I want 3 points every single game and more so in this and a few others but in this one I’d take 1 but like you say all 3 would be awesome! 🤞

I'm looking forward to tonight's game more than any trip to Anfield for a very long time. I have no expectations what so ever of what will happen, which is excellent because for the last few years I've either avoided the game completely or watched it from behind the couch.

Liverpool are the best team in the country so obviously we go there as underdogs, but underdogs is a huge step up from the lost cause before we start that has been our usual status in recent years.

{Ed047's Note - good point 62 and in that respect it’s nice to now think we’re actually going to turn up.

Huge test but let’s at least make a fist of it!

Yeah that's a very good point Gunner mate! I would love to take 3 from every game too Ed of course haha!

It would be so refreshing to see a really solid performance away from home against Liverpool and would really set a precedent about how to approach the rest of the season.

Like Arteta keeps saying, if we believe in ourselves and the way we play then we can achieve it. We just need to stick to the plan!

What making me a bit more confident going into this game than before is that the boss actually have a plan and will be setting up the team to what Liverpool brings to the game. A good solid defensive performance is the key for tonights game.

{Ed047's Note - 🤞

What I want to see is a side going out that is looking to capitalise on rivals slip ups at the weekend and also a side who are set up to exploit tonight’s opponents weaknesses. A full strength Liverpool at home have little to no weakness, but they will not be full strength. I have no doubts Arteta will have us motivated to go there and try win.
Still it’s the toughest fixture in the league so my expectations aren’t that we will, but it would still be positive from my perspective to see the team adopt the mentality and awareness of what could be at stake tonight with regards to building momentum.

{Ed047's Note - 100% mate

I be happy with a draw as the last few years we have been beaten with ease as long as we play our best that's all I want.

What's great to see is that the fans have some confidence back! Last season and especially the season before we would fully expect defeat and noting else from a game like this.

An empty Anfield is a massive weakness for Liverpool as far as I'm concerned. If we can get at them then a win is achievable 100%.

I dare to dream :)

Arteta is both aware and adaptable, he's aware of Liverpools strengths and their very few weaknesses every bit as much as he's aware of our own strengths and weaknesses. He will adapt to the situation and have a plan that his players both understand and belive in and that alone gives us our best chance in years of getting something at Anfield. I'm not saying we will get something but absolutely no way am I writing this fixture off as a simple damage limitations Excersise before it even begins.

Nice one Gunner mate, I like it! Mikel has already suggested that we may need to change our game plan to get a result and I like the fact that he's not blinkered in his approach. If he have to win ugly then so be it and fingers crossed we take all 3 points tonight :)

4-1 to us COYG.

I’d take a point, it’s a positive step forward.

If we are not completely beaten out of sight before half time at Anfield it will be a massive improvement on recent years :-)

I think 3 or 4 nil down in the first 20 to 30 minutes has become the norm in previous meetings :-)
