{Ed001's Note - this year's team? Hard to compare from different eras mate. It always comes down to personal preference as the game changes so much. But I doubt you will find a single Liverpool fan who would think that a team that won nothing in Europe could be considered anywhere near a team who won the Champions League, World Club Cup and Premier League in quick succession though.}

It's only now looking back that you realise the invincibles actually underachieved, I know that sounds crazy but when you think about how brilliant they were but how short lived and what they didn't achieve it seems they failed to achieve their full potential and were capable of so much more than that one unbelievable season.

The difference was, we played against much better sides then. Barcelona were in a different league to the Barcelona of today. Also Juventus, Inter and AC Milan. All these teams were way above what they are now. Now it is PSG and Bayern Munich.
I don't believe the Liverpool today is what Barcelona was back then. Just my opinion.

Hi Andy I don't think the best of Barcelona came until a bit after the invincibles, under Pep in 2009 or 2010 was it? v United in the champions league final that Barcelona were just unplayable, that United side were a very good team and walked the premier league title that season but Peps Barcelona made untied look like the Nags head Sunday league 2nd 11, best side I've ever seen.
