Anyone else been surprised how calm and dependable martinez has looked in goal.

I’d start him over Leno.
He’s calm, good shot stopper, great decision making and more vocal. If we sort the defence out ( plus CDM) then I feel we benefit more from a Martinez type keeper than a Leno type keeper.

Let's see how he bounces back from a bad game, Leno can be a flapper on crosses sometimes but it never seems to dent his confidence.
Personally I think every player who comes in and does well should retain his place regardless of name or how much they cost.
Competition for places is crucial to success and I'm 'm not a fan of rotation rotation rotation either, play your best 11 in every game and let the players fight it out to be in and stay in that 11.
Mikels philosophy of who trains the best plays worries me too, I understand the thinking behind it but I'm not sure it's a blue print for success.

Absolutely D16. I was thinking the same - he has held on to everything! I really hope he's given the role and told its his position to lose when Leno is back. Got to be good for the team.
