Am I the only one who was waiting for the transfer window to open on the 10th June? Haha.

{Ed047's Note - do you know, I haven’t even given the transfer window a thought, I’m not 100% certain I’ve even missed football that much.

I’ve enjoyed doing lots of other stuff instead, I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve worked throughout so just enjoyed my spare time not wrapped up in football.

Not even watched a minute of the European football leagues that have restarted either. 🤷‍♂️

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed047 I'm with you 100% mate, obviously wed all rather this enforced time of reflection hadn't happend across the world but with it has come a chance to see things from a different angle
I've had a quick look at the BBC page now and again but not once looked at the gossip column.

Ed047 - I was thinking the same thing. It puts things into perspective. May be football is just a game.

I’ve seen friends hit bad with C.V., lost an elderly relative, seen colleagues who are excellent employees go on furlough and have huge drop in earnings plus some will be redundant soon.

It’s a sad world and I’m fed up with everyone moaning that UK got it wrong - you do better for health and economy and mental health.
I’ve cancelled sky sports to save a little money and t missed epl a single bit.

Actually loved spending more time with family and not working around kick off times etc. Certainly helps that we are useless - not sure Pool fans are missing epl.
I may be a more relaxed supporter and a more avid supporter of enjoying life, family and friends. Think that’s a better balance. Nice to hear I’m not alone!
Hope you and all the Eds plus readers are well.
Stay safe.

BLM and Family rule.

Sy4, every life matters.

Hi SY mate, sorry to hear about your elderly relative and friends who've been affected too mate.
It really does put football into perspective mate and although the game returning will be a be nice boost for those who have been missing it for me personally I miss the regular banter on this site but I could easily go another 12 months without football being played and not be adversely affected in any way myself.
I feel for your colleagues who are losing thier jobs it's a tough job market right now mate, I'm applying for jobs myself and am yet to get a reply let alone an interview from any of them yet but I'm using my life experience to remind myself that tough times come and go they don't last for ever and good times will return again, it's not if but when.

Wise words 62 - good luck in the search for a new job. What industry you?

Hope your life experience gets you a good job and you are happy and well bud.

Hi SY mate, I've been in face to face sales and fundraising for a long time mate but given the current situation meeting lots of different people on a daily basis doesn't feel like the smartest thing to be doing for anyone's sake.
But if truth be told I've been thinking and wanting a change of direction for a couple of years now.
Ideally I'm looking for something more than just a pay packet where I actually look forward to going to work and the idea of helping other people who might be struggling at the moment really floats my boat.
I've raided a lot of money for some excellent charities over the years and that's been nice but I'd like to actually get involved in a more hands on way that has a positive affect on someone's future life and happiness if that makes sense.
I've recently applied for a job I'd love working for a charity that helps people get back on their feet after falling into a difficult time for one reason or another, I've just turned 58 so I realise it's a big ask for someone to invest time and money training me for a different role at my age but if I don't try now when will I? I'd really love to do the job so I've asked the question and if it's another no then hey ho it's another step closer to a finding a yes and as long as i don't stop asking a yes will definitely come along in the end I'm sure mate. Someone told me once the only things failure can't defeat is persistence and trust that everything will work out for the best in the end if you don't give up. " Keep swimming Nemo " it's the only way :-)

Have to be honest G62, from the stuff you post on here, you would be brilliant at that role. Really hope something comes along for you.

Ah thank you Epping mate, that really means a lot to me mate and makes me feel really positive about myself and what I'm hoping to do in the future.
Thank you so much mate, you've really made my day :-)

Good luck in your new venture Gunner 😊🌈.

I second that - think you would be a good listener, show empathy and give good advice. Good luck - hopefully a lucky good cause gets your cv in the post and gives you a chance 🤞.

Thank you Sally and SY really do appreciate your support, I'm hoping this is the shot that makes the net bulge and gets me back in the game but if not I'll lick my wounds keep going and sooner or later I'll get lucky deflection where the ball hits my knee fly into the top corner and sends me on a 10 game scoring spree ;-)
