Who do you think is our greatest number 7

For me it's chippy Brady.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tough one that. Brady, absolute quality, surely pires has to run him close.

11 May 2020 19:33:19
George Armstrong has to get a mention too and surely no list of Arsenal's best ever number 7s could be fit for purpose if it did not contain David Rocastle at the very heart of it.

11 May 2020 21:39:58
Rocky. of course. Fantastic player and by all accounts fantastic person as well rip.

11 May 2020 21:43:30
Limpar. merson.

11 May 2020 21:45:14
Not saying they were the greatest, just that we've been blessed with that number. Even Sanchez and rosicky (when fit)

Pires and Brady - how many players get a “we’re not worthy” moment when you pick up the epl trophy.

11 May 2020 22:48:58
Absolutely Ramsgate mate, incredible to think Dave Rocastle and Ian Wright grew up on the same estate together and ended up rooming together on Arsenal away trips, Wrighty says Rocastle took him under his wing when he first arrived and told him he was now playing for The Arsenal.
Couldn't believe it when George sold him, great player and apparently a lovely human being too bless him.

Still Chippy for me

Was at the sewer when he scored an amazing screamer in the 5 nil hammering

Born is the king of Highbury.

Born in 76, haven't memories of Brady apart from video footage. But looked class apart back then. Just going on clear memories to me. Think we can all agree, all names mentioned were and those still playing are quality .
Even couple of years back, watching arsenal vs Milan legends, pires and ljungberg still looked better prospect than some of current 1st team.

Watching the re-run of the 1979 cup final ( one of the greatest imo) reminded me what a great player Brady was, two footed, and a great creative force, so he wins for me.

13 May 2020 23:24:57
Most two footed player - Santi

Most one footed player - Paul Davis

Two great players nonetheless

Still torn between Brady and Robbie - that lob Robbie scored. “Take a bow son”

Malaga - the goal against Spurs, think was on the old motd build up clips, was special One.

As for league number 7s nobody better than man Utd, George best, Bryan Robson, Ronaldo will take some beating.
